Customer Review: Incredibly sturdy and attractive wall system

If you are hanging tools on a wall, throw away the idea of installing pegboard or wall hangers. I installed this over sheetrock in my tool room.
The downside is it's expensive, BUT it does offer a lot more value than other systems I'm familiar with. The upside is that it's much sturdier than anything I've ever had before. I think the spec says 75 lbs per foot over 16" stud mounting, and anything heavier than that, I don't need to be picking up at my age anyway.
It's attractive, easy to saw, easy to drill, and easy enough that the only thing you have to remember is what our dads taught us -- "measure twice, and cut (or drill) once." I recommend pre-drilling holes for the screws. The biggest challenge for most of us will be that first stud. Be careful driving the screws as you get to the end -- it's easy if you get in a hurry to screw them "through" the GearTracks, because you don't get much of a feeling of resistance as you do in wood.
Also, it appears to be easy to clean -- except, I started drawing lines on it with a carpenter's graphite pencil, thinking the marks would just come off with a damp finger or cloth. I actually had to go get some Formula 409 to get the pencil marks off it. However, dust will just wipe off it.
