We bought a brand new dishwasher with a stainless steel interior a few months ago. Our water comes from a well, and it didn't take long before the water created unsightly stains on the inside of our dishwasher even though we have a water treatment system. I tried a few home remedies that didn't work at all, then searched on line and found Glisten. The reviews seemed positive so I looked for the product locally and couldn't find it (in the Denver area). I ordered a few packets on line to see if it would work. I had read that Glisten could also clean the chalky stains that appear on some dishes and glasses. I put one glass and one dish in the dishwasher the first time I used Glisten. The dishwasher looks brand new again and the dish, which has brown trim which looked particularly chalky, is clean again. Fantastic product. Did exactly what it promised to do. I discovered that Phelphs Industries, which is still listed on the label of the packets I received, sold the company to Summit Industries about a year ago. Love this stuff! Our dishwasher has a stainless steel inside. After a few months of use I started to notice that the inside was becoming cloudy and all of my glassware (and some hard plastic) was getting cloudy too -- I think because of hard water. I tried a commercial dishwasher cleaner I found in the supermarket and it cleaned the inside of the washer okay, but I didn't feel comfortable exposing my dishes/glasses to it because of the chemicals. I tried lemon juice and vinegar in glasses on the top rack with and without detergent. Not much result. Finally found this on Amazon. Read the + reviews and decided to try. Just got done washing my dishwasher with all of the cloudy glasses inside and yippee, they all look perfect again!Customer Review: Fishy Smell Gone

Our brand new Kitchen Aid Dishwasher had an extremely strong odor of fish, every time we ran it! We seriously wanted to return the appliance, but first we were required to have it inspected by their service tech. Everything passed inspection, so before he left he tossed in a packet of Glisten and recommended we use it monthly. It has taken about three months, but now the odor has been completely eliminated. The interior of the dishwasher is sparkling clean, too. When we moved into our home we started to notice that our dishes appeared to be very dirty with nasty ugly white stains and film and build up all over our dishes. I would run them thru repeat cycles thinking it wasnt cleaning enough. It was horrible and I didnt know why. We cleaned our dishwasher (which was really gross) then tried to wash again, still same issue, I even bought some dishwasher magic stuff and that didnt work either.
We finally realized that it was the hard water that is causing this. I looked around online and found this stuff, at first I was running an entire package thru the machine without dishes and then I decided to fill the prewash container in my washer and it has made my dishes shiny, no residue, no water stains or even water marks. I always order this stuff, I cannot seem to find it locally, and I order several packages at once. I have been using this stuff for about a year and a half now and I cannot seem to live with out it! I ran out last week and I tried the vinegar in the wash and that sort of helps but no where as good as glisten!
Its worth a try if you have hard water and cant seems to get your dishes to look clean
Customer Review: Gets the job done, but I feel is expensive

When I purchased this, I thought it would be for a few uses so I would not have to buy another one in 6 months or so. However, this is a one time use product that comes. It does seem to work as my dishes do not come out with dried stuff stuck to them. So all in all, it works, but is more expensive per use that I thought originally.
