Tools and Hardware Reviews of Globe 48526 23-Watt Mini Compact Fluorescent Spiral Bulb (100-Watt Incandescent Equivalent), Soft White, 4 PackCustomer Review: Just OK Summary: 3 Stars
These work pretty well, but they are MASSIVE. They're probably an inch and a half longer than a regular lightbulb and thicker as well.
Depending on what you're going to use these for, you need to keep their size in mind. If you are wanting to replace regular bulbs in an enclosed fixture with a globe or dome, for example, be sure there is plenty of space in there before you buy these.
Customer Review: Just doing my part, folks... Summary: 5 Stars
With this year's "Green" campaign, I decided to get serious and do more than I had already done: All my household appliances are energy-savers; I'm fastidious about picking up litter around my neighborhood and recycling; and am always conscious of our planet. So what else could I do?
Ah-ha! A light-bulb just went off in my head: I've been meaning to replace all the light bulbs in my home with energy-saving fluorescent bulbs, so what better time than now? When fluorescent lighting became available in the small bulb sizes, I was hesitant to use them, thinking they'd flicker and look unnatural like the ones I had in my office years ago. But I tried a few of them last year and was pleasantly surprised to find they don't flicker and the lighting is fine. At that time I thought of putting them all over the house, but procrastinated.... Well, you know how that is....
Well, now I'm seriously "Greening," so that's why I purchased these bulbs; it's the easiest, most practical "extra" thing I can do. I ordered these 100-watt bulbs for reading lamps and some of the 60-watts for other areas. And now I feel good about myself because CFLs use approximately 70% less energy than incandescent bulbs and produce the same light output. One CFL bulb lasts from 8,000 to 10,000 hours or up to 10 years. This saves money in energy costs and bulb purchases when compared to regular incandescent bulbs.
EARTH DAY is over for this year, but "Greening" is an ongoing process that must continually be addressed.

Customer Review: Love this item Summary: 5 Stars
Bought this item once, to check it out and then again because I liked it so much. It fits into a standard light socket. Not sure how long they're going to last, although the box says somewhere between 7 and 10 years, but its good to know that I am doing something to contribute to the health of the environment.
Customer Review: Misleading name Summary: 2 Stars
These are physically much bigger than their 60W bretheren so don't know why they're "mini compact".
"supersized monster" bulb would have been more accurate.
Works fine but sticks about an inch out of my vertical light fixture
Customer Review: Nice but a bit of adjustment Summary: 4 Stars
I would say they are closer to a 75 watt Equivalent;
It is a much colder feeling light;
It takes about 1 second to turn on and about 20-30 to reach full brightness. (hard to get used to)
All that said, I will definitely continue buying them because the benefits far outweigh the downsides, and I will probably be used to the changes after a little while.
