Good light. You can use the plug under it if you don't need a lot of room. We tried other brands that were too sensitive to lightning strikes and had to be replaced. This model seems to be pretty tough. Buy enough to get free shipping.Customer Review: Emergency Light

I bought 5 of these and put them in each of my kids' bedroom, our master bedroom and also the basement. Not only do they work great as nightlights but during power failures, they provided very adequate lighting (as emergency lights) to allow us to move around the house. Best is that you can unplug them and use them as flashlights. Only reason I gave them 4 out of 5 stars is that the whole unit covers the extra power socket.Customer Review: Excellent nightlight...even during blackouts!!

I bought this item when we had a blackout and my 2 year old woke in the middle of the night and was screaming because his nightlight obviously wasn't working. I got online and did a search for a battery back up nightlight and am really happy with this purchase. The nightlight is on the weak side...not nearly as bright as his original one,however, it does the trick. I keep it on the auto on/off setting to come on at night and off in the morning. It also has a mini flashlight feature that will probably also come in handy in the event of blackouts. I would buy again.Customer Review: Exploded

When I received this unit I plugged it in and noticed the nightlight came on even though the room was bright. I checked the switch settings and plugged it back in. It exploded. I won't be buying another one.
