The unit is very attractive and was purchased to replace my "on/off" baseboard thermostat. The hookup was extra simple with two wires for the 220 feed and two wires for the heater load. Programing was also very easy, every day can be time programmed with two "comfort on" cycles and two "economy" cycles, plus there is a vacation low temp cycle. While every day can have it's own unique on and off times, there are only two temps available on a daily basis, either comfort or economy. I would like to see the weekends with their own seperate temps available, but other than that, the units work perfectly and do everything that is promised.Customer Review: Honeywell TM8000 Programmable Thermostat

Great thermostat at a reasonable price. Follow the programming instructions closely. I did with the first one I installed, then a couple weeks later installed 3 more thinking I knew how to program without RTM again.... wrong. If you have ever owned or used Honeywell's Line Voltage Programmable Thermostat Models CT1950A or CT1950B, you will not like the programming options & flexibility of their new Line Voltage Products. I absolutely hate this Thermostat. It offers "no" programming flexibility.
Previous products allowed you to program up to four changes: any temps., up or down, any time of the day or weekend.
Their new products still allow for up to four program changes, but your temps. are limited between only two pre-programmed / pre-set temps. that are designated either economy.....your low temp. setting, or comfort.....your high temp. setting, and you have no control on whether you can keep increasing "or" decreasing temps. between program changes. You can only switch back & fourth between economy or comfort, or you can clear / ignore a program slot. You do not have the flexibility to continue increasing between program changes, decreasing between program changes, or using any temps. you wish between program periods.
I can see how this Thermostat might work better as a single whole house Thermostat, but I do not know anyone that runs all their baseboards heaters in a house on just one Thermostat.
I have eleven Thermostats in my home. All of them Honeywell's Model CT1950B. The only reason I purchased one of their new ones is because I fried one & needed to replace it. I couldn't find any of their older Models. I selected this one from several I reviewed. I now regret this purchase.
Anyone who submits a positive feedback for this product either must work for Honeywell or is getting a kickback to offer such reviews.

Works great. Easy to install and program. Update: 12/13/07- In the 2 months that I have really been using the baseboard heat in my house, I have seen considerable savings in my heating bill. I like that, if you want a little exta heat for a short period of time, you can override the programmed temperature without having to completely reprogram. I am going to buy one more for the dining room. Very happy with this product.
