I've had this mop for over a year and I just love it. Quite frankly, you could just get the microfiber cloth wet and it would do a better job cleaning that most other mops. However, I do think having the hot steam makes a difference.
It is very important so use DISTILLED water. If you don't, your machine will get gunked up with limescale and minerals. I initially decided to ignore this advice because we have a water softener. I also didn't use the limescale remover packets that came with the mop. The result was less steam, and so/so cleaning. As soon as I remembered, I switched to distilled water and used the limescaler remover packet, and it was back to steaming up a storm.
I use plain distilled water and it gets my tile floor very clean. I love the squeaky clean feeling when walking on bare feet after I've mopped. I Wouldn't be without it, and I've tried so many floor gadgets (Hoover Floormate etc). I very highly recommend this mop!

I purchased the Haan Cleaner. It came with the carpet cleaner attachment and 4 pads. I love the Haan. I used to do my floors with the oil soap but I found there was always dirt on the floors when I got done. It was embedded in the dried oil soap. Now I find that the floors are so clean when I walk on them with bare feet. This is something I should have bought long ago. We have a ceramic tile floor in both our kitchen and dining room. It has been a pain to keep clean. The floor had recently been mopped so it looked okay the day our steamer arrived. We opened the box and fired it up. We were amazed at how much better the floor looked after steam cleaning it. It is so easy to use. We love it. The cleaner pad was really filthy when we were done, which is a good thing, right? Just dropped it in the washer. The Haan FS20 works perfectly! I ordered the extra deluxe sanitizing tray so I can clean other surfaces as well as the floor. It works great on mattresses, they have a fresh sunshine scent now! Tile walls in the bathroom are super shiny after using the Haan!
We have beautiful tile floors throughout our house and they feel so wonderfully clean after using the Haan FS20! Prior to purchasing it, I used a traditional mop and no matter how many times I mopped using bleach or pine cleaners, it just never felt truly clean. The amount of hidden dirt that remained behind after traditional mopping was clearly evident when I checked the pad after using the Haan FS20! It was shocking to see what mopping had left behind. But don't have to worry about that anymore now!
I am very happy with my Haan FS20!!! It's simple to use, light-weight, water heats quickly, and the notification light tells me when it's ready to start steaming away the dirt and grime!
Very happy and impressed with my Haan FS20 and would highly recommend it to everyone! It REALLY works! :)
