Edit 11/11/09: On/off switch broke after just a few uses. Unit stays on, just have to unplug from outlet to turn off. Really wish it would fit under my cabinets.
Very happy with this purchase. This is my first steam cleaner and we were impressed at how quickly and easily it cleaned the floors. Convenient replacement for a messy mop.
Pros:
1) Uses water/steam vs. chemicals to clean
2) House smells clean, not chemically fragrant
3) Ergonomic handle, adjustable length of handle
4) Velcro pad stays on nicely
5) Simple to use--add water to tank, plug in, turn on and wait for indicator to turn orange (means steam is ready)
6) Red indicator light indicates tank empty
7) Handle does stay upright when not in use
8) Dries very quickly
Cons:
1) Would have liked a longer cord.
2) Cannot fit under my cabinets
3) No mop ever cleaned the corners well--still have to get them by hand
All in all we're very happy with this steam mop!

I was hooked by all the good reviews and the infomercial on tv, so I bought it. I've had mine about a month. First off, I did not know it would be so weird to mop with a cord....but, it is. You would think you do just fine vacuuming, what could be different? Not sure, but it's weird. It's not fantastic at getting dried on dirt up, I've had way more luck with a regular sponge mop, and I can flip the sponge mop over for the scrubbing action. Can't do that with the Haan. I have to go back after I mopped with a scrub sponge to get the dried on dirt. I bought this because I was intrigued by the fact that the floor is instantly dry, but getting the thing out, setting it up, waiting for it to heat up, is not worth the fact that the floor is instantly dry...because it isn't. Plus, I really miss the artificial "lemon" smell I get from conventional cleaners...didn't think I would, but I do. All in all, even though I bought it, I'm not sold on the Haan steam mop.Customer Review: Excellent For What It Is

This cleaner is not a vacuum, nor is it a small rug steamer. It is a chemical free alternative to disposable wet mops. It is easy to use and leaves tile floors almost instantly dry. Having said that, bear these facts in mind. It is not a replacement for a traditional scrubbing mop and a bucket of hot floor cleaner. If you have a really grungy floor, that remains your best path. It relies on a floor that has been broom or cloth-swept. If you have a light colored tile floor in your kitchen or other area that is subject to frequent spills and footprints, this will do fine, once you have swept. The pads have a very limited capacity for anything other than spills, so pet hair, kitty litter, sand, or anything that can't be be put in solution with hot water will just get pushed around. We have a lot of tile, light and dark and it does just fine. If you have set-in stains, the machine will not help you. Only old-fashioned scrubbing will avail. If your grout is light and not properly sealed, then no machine can help you. We have not tried the upholstery sanitizer tray and will probably try that on an old pillow first before using it on costly mattresses. A neat person living alone and who has tile would probably love this.
By the way, the manual that comes with this is one of the best owner's manuals seen recently, much better than many shipped with products of more cost and complexity.

The steam mop does everything it claims to do. I am glad I also got the carpet attachment. I have not used it on carpet yet, but I have used it on my mattress, since I have dust allergies. If you are purchasing this item I would HIGHLY recommend also getting 4 extra pads. (It comes with only two.) If you don't switch the pads freqently they become saturated and don't work nearly as well. The six pads get me through one full tank of water. My floors feel very clean and look great! Also, no more sprays or chemicals to buy or run out of! Recommended 100%!
