Tools and Hardware Reviews of Hampton Direct Twin Draft Guard Window/Door Insulating Device with Over-the-Door Hook, Brown, 2-PackCustomer Review: An easy solution Summary: 4 Stars
I actually bought this product for 1/2 the price at a Walgreens.
I have an extra wide door and it fit fine and the door functions properly.
I live in a condo complex so there is a major gap under the door and there is no heat provided in the winter for the hallways so I thought this might be a good way to go. It was worth a try. I will actually get a second one for my front door.
Very easy to put together and use. It's not perfect but it's better than a new door!
Customer Review: Cheap yey effective Summary: 3 Stars
Two pieces of round foam in sewn fabric
If I could sew I would have done it myself.
The fabric will break down from wear from opening and closing the door.
Does it do the job? Yes. Could it have been made better? Yes
The fabric is not durable. It will probably break down before it gets warmer.
And yes I'll probably replace it with another. Why? Because it's cheap :)
Pros: Cheap and easy to replace.
Cons: Cheap and will need to be replaced.
Customer Review: Doesn't Fit Every Door! Summary: 1 Stars
There's just a small gap between my door and the floor in the entryway. That's enough to render this product useless. It would be great if I never needed to open the front door!
Customer Review: Doesn't stay in place Summary: 2 Stars
The foam gets stuck under the door when you open and close. Best thing is to sew it so you can get a snug fit...but it's a bit of a hassle. I haven't had time to do so because I was hoping to just open it and use it problem free, so mine gets caught every time....really annoying. I'm sure I'll get around to it sometime. However...it does cover the draft.
Customer Review: Don't Bother Buying This Product Summary: 1 Stars
The item is two pieces of styrofoam in a cheap fabric slipcover. I should have read the other reviews before buying, because I'd have know that the door would over the top of the styrofoam without pause, rendering them useless to stop a draft in any way. They have absolutely no weight to them at all and do not press against the bottom edge of the door. You can do the same job with an old towel and save yourself $20.
