Bought the motion sprinkler to keep deer and rabbits out of my vegetable garden. So far, so good. Has chased out our dog and cat as well. Had to play with the sensitivity knob to keep it from continually going off. Needed to soften the ground to insert the plastic spike. Good area coverage. I have a rose bush the deer just would not leave alone. I bought this product not only for the deer, but for my cats who seem to think that a newly mulched flower bed is their clean litterbox. It works great. I would recommend this product to anyone who has deer (or cat problems). It is very sensitive and I barely have my water turned on to it and it sprays out very far. We've just about had it with the deer on our property - we like to look at them but hate all of the damage. We've planted every deer proof plant that's somewhat attractive but they all still like to nibble (sometimes destroying the whole plant). Just this morning I found evidence that the sprinkler worked - I noticed that one of our solar path lights was lying on the ground and noticed some deer hoof prints in one of our landscape beds near the sprinkler. It must have scared the deer who then took off and kicked the light off it's post (I see some of his hair on the lightpost). Score one big one for me!!!! I bought three of these - one for our front yard and two to guard my landscape beds and container vegetables growing on my patio. Product works exactly as described. I use it on a post to "See" larger animals earlier (deer).
Deer do not eat my garden or trees anymore. Period.
I have 3 of these units and move them around occasionally to keep the deer guessing. I have pretty much trained them not to come !!
