I purchased this to deter cats, so far I have gotten the mailman and UPS driver, it will not sense a small animal, you cannot lower it less than the stake or angle it down or it will not work at all.If you want to get people or cows then this is for you.Customer Review: Never worked correctly

I had high hopes for this product, based on the reviews, but either mine is defective, or it doesn't work as I hoped. First I tried to run it off my pond pump, but there's not enough pressure there. So, I ran a hose across the yard to test it. It has enough pressure now, but the sensor doesn't work correctly. It seems to go off at random times for no reason, but won't activate if I walk in front of it, or wave a stick. It seems as if it goes into a sleep mode after about 10 mins and won't go off unless you hit it with something. I've tried all settings and tried resetting it, but no success.Customer Review: Not a great deterrent for squirrels or ground hogs.

The price on-line was much less than local retailers. It senses motion very well. However, you need more than one to surround a garden. Squirrels learn very quickly how to enter the garden undetected. Groundhogs seem completely undeterred. I have three motion detecting sprinklers, two made by Contech (ScareCrow) and one by Havahart. Both of them are excellent for repelling deer (two years of experience with high deer pressure) but the Contech ScareCrow is more dependable. Although the Scarecrow sprinkler is more expensive, it is worth the price. The Havahart does not come with a guarantee other than a 30 day return policy whereas the Contech ScareCrow sprinkler has a two year warranty and they stand behind it. I had one fail after 22 months of use and they replaced it promptly. Also the motion detecting range, sensitivity, and adjustment is more stable and dependable in the Contech ScareCrow. The only time I've not had the ScareCrow work was during a period of very high humidity during some rainy weather when it failed to go off during a period of less than a day. On the other hand the Havahart motion sprinker is much more erratic in its performance and sometimes fails to work for brief periods.Customer Review: Not up to snuff

Bought it to aid against jack rabbits eating flowers in the lawn. Never stopped the rabbits, but did spray the neighbor a couple of times. That's why I rated it a 3 star.
