Tools and Hardware Reviews of HomeRight C800552 Heat Pro Deluxe 10-piece Hot Air Tool KitCustomer Review: It's Decent Summary: 3 Stars
First i Thought i had a bad one...
Alright, So I just went and it TURNED ON! WooooW! It works.
Not so bad...
If you get this and make sure after you get done using it you turn the temp ALLL the Way Down, And let it Run for a Minute Before you Turn it Off.
If you don't let it cool off it'll probably not live so long.
I took off the black plastic on the front cause it served no purpose and made the thing stay hotter.
I'll Keeep you All Updated PeEEAce!
Customer Review: Just a repackaged Black and Decker? Summary: 4 Stars
I have the Black & Decker C800620 version of this heat gun... From looking at the photos and attachments and all the specs of both guns, I've come to the conclusion that they are exactly the same product, except this one has been painted blue, re-branded, and stripped of the B&D 2-year warranty...
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but im fully convinced they are the same product. They are both offered on amazon, with the B&D inexplicably being cheaper at the moment. My B&D is a good product for what i need it for (mainly DIY PCB reflows for gaming consoles and laptops) so Im not knocking this one in any way, but if this product is simply B&D's attempt to lower their warranty service costs, then thats pretty lame.
This product is worth checking out of the other one is sold out.
Customer Review: Light weight gun gets the job done. Summary: 5 Stars
Only used it once since I bought it to remove some old political bumper stickers from my car. It did a great job of softening the adhesive so I was able to remove the stickers in one piece. The gun was a lot lighter than I expected.
Customer Review: PCB Component Removal Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this heatgun for PCB component removal only.
It works fantastic for my specific use! I was able to recover parts from around 10 various sized PCB's. This Device will burn pcb's at high setting so be careful!
I have no *real* complaints with the product, never overheated, ran for 30 to 45 minutes at a time. It looks kind of cheesy, but worked wonders for my specific use.
Price to performance, This was a great purchase. The nozzles are kind of cheap as well as the tools included, but it worked 100% to my expectation based on the price.
If PCB parts recovery is your goal, this will do it for cheap.
Customer Review: Satisfied and a good price ($35 for me) Summary: 5 Stars
Great design. Wide-range variable heat dial, and it really does go from slightly lukewarm to as hot as you'd want from a heat gun. Lots of accessories although I've only used a couple of them. It stands up on its end nicely too so that when the job is complete you can let it cool off without the tip touching anything before you put it back into the case.
I paid $34.99 for mine however I notice the price has gone up since then. So I might like it better than some considering a purchase now. But, price aside, it is great tool.
