Last time I got one of the non-Honeywell filters, it was too big and stuck out the side a bit, but it functioned fine. This time the one from Filters-Now was a bit too short, and it did not fit tight with the side plate causing a loud whistling noise. I added a couple of washers under the tightening knob so that the side plate would fit tight to eliminate the noise. It works fine after this 'adjustment'.Customer Review: Product not as advertised

I purchased this filter from "Allergy Be Gone" via Amazon. It was advertised as "Genuine Honeywell True HEPA filter" but when the product arrived it was clearly made by some other company than Honeywell. And it is not of the same quality as the Honeywell HEPA filter (the Honeywell has soft rubber gaskets while the one that I received has hard plastic gaskets which makes it harder to seal the filter in the unit).Customer Review: Time to Change Your HEPA Filter on Your Air Cleaner?

Before ordering a replacement HEPA filter for your Honeywell (or other brand) Air Cleaner, be sure to check the model number on the unit. This filter is for the larger of the two upright units with handles (Model 17400) and for two Enviracare Models (62500, 12520). I replace my HEPA filter every year because I am very allergic to cigarette smoke, pollens, dust, molds, and other allergens and irritants. Honeywell suggests that you replace your HEPA filter every 1-3 years. Also, this HEPA filter has pre-filters which wrap around it, so you may want to order a box of those, too. Yes, the 22500 does work great, but for less you can get 2 HRF-14s (Honeywell enviracaire UNIVERSAL REPLACEMENT TRUE HELP FILTER) to do the same job...
