This pre-filter is necessary to make my Honeywell air purifier work optimally. And it does. I have just purchased 3 Honeywell purifiers, and have not replaced this pre-filter yet. But, I can tell that my house is less dust filled, and more importantly, less cat hair filled. That was my goal, and I reached it!Customer Review: Nice filter but....

This is a decent filter - but it has too much of a carbon smell to it. It will take a long use to get that smell to go away. If you leave it in a room for awhile fresh out of the box - the room will have a carbon smell to it - instead of fresh air.Customer Review: No complaints

I bought two of these Honeywell air filter units at a garage sale for a really cheap price. The previous owners could not find new filter replacements locally and did not want to spend the big bucks from the manufacturer. These replacement filters here on Amazon were a perfect fit and work well. The price was right and shipping was very prompt.

Ordered Honeywell 38002 pre-filters from Filter Savings, but got a no-name substitute from Allergy Asthma Technologies LTD instead even though invoice said Honeywell 38002 pre-filters. Substitute filters shed carbon and lack cutting lines that the Honeywell filters have. Feel ripped-off, will not deal with Filter Savings again.
