Customer Review: Allergy meds no longer needed

I was recently tested and found to have many allergies, including to my 5 cats. My dogs as well tested positive for allergies and are on meds. I did get a purifier and ionizer for the bedroom. I did remove the drapes and added pella windows with blinds between the glass. The Honeywell air purifier was the extra boost I needed. I have it in the living room and yes you hear it especially if you have it on the top speed but it works. It is more powerful than the other two that I have in the bedroom and covers more area. I had a followup with my allergist and asked him why am I now almost med free and he said because I listened to him, and I got a HEPA Purifier. I also noticed that the dogs are scratching less. While this might not do for you what it did for me, for I went above and beyond what one might do to ease the allergy reactions all I can tell you is that it certainly helped in my situation. I do not care that it is in my living room by the entrance, I do not care if it does not match the decor, I do not care if there is noise, what I do care about is the benefits. This unit has been running non stop for a month and still the unit does not need to have the filter vacuumed. I am thinking of purchasing another just for the office.

The Enviracaire 50250 removed sufficient animal dandruff (2 dogs that scratch frequently) from a 1000 SqFt apt. so that allergy shots are not required to live and breathe comfortably. Unit is moved around to each room daily set on medium speed. Audible sound is not bothersome to conversation or entainment equipment.Customer Review: Amazing air purifer

Sweet product!!
Simple design that works as good as the Austin Air HealthMate but at half the price.
The only difference is that you have to vacuum the both the carbon/HEPA filter couple of times a year and maybe even replace the HEPA filter once every 3-4 years as compared to the Healthmate which just needs a filter change every 5 years. In 5 years, the cost savings for the Honeywell 502500N is large.
In terms of performance, this purifier works amazing though the max setting is a bit loud if you're going to use it at night (I set it to the lowest setting before I sleep anyways).

Before purchasing this unit I read all the reviews I could find anywhere. Please read "Best Value Purifier" by Richard Wong "Wolf" on March 5-07. It's the best information you'll find anywhere on the web and it's on Amazone's reviews. For my children it was a bit nosiy but since I grew up with a wall unit air conditioner, it was music to my ears. The best "white noise" you can get that is productive in cleaning the air. Pre-filter is easy to change and if you use Amazon's special of buy 3 get one free it's a better deal. Target sells the pre-filters for $9.99Customer Review: Bad quality - poor value

I bought one of these, took it home, turned it on, and it had a bad rattle and would shake when running. I turned it off and looked it over carefully. You can see the fan through the slot on top. The fan had a section of plastic missing throwing it off balance. I am surprised the assemblers of the unit tried to slip an obvious defective part into a unit. Neverless, I took it back and swapped it for another unit. Although the new unit did not rattle, it shook when operating on low speed and made a pulsating wind noise. Looking at the fan on this unit found it to be off center slightly. I took the second one back, got a refund, and bought a different brand model at sears.
