Tools and Hardware Reviews of Honeywell HCM-6009 QuietCare 9-Gallon Output Console Humidifier with Air Washing TechnologyCustomer Review: Good product IF you don't have to buy parts Summary: 3 Stars
After dealing with their parts supplier four times[Kaz Inc] I will NEVER buy another Honeywell product again...They send the wrong parts,10-14 work days for delivery, poor communication & they didn't pass it on that a part is backordered...Customer Service is poor!
Customer Review: Good througput and accurate humidifying Summary: 5 Stars
This humidifier easily and quickly humidifies my small (600 Sq. Feet), irregular, poorly sealed apartment to any level I want. I tried one of the well-rated smaller humidifiers, but it was a struggle to keep the humidity above 40%. With this Honeywell, I can leave the fan on low and achieve 50%+ on the lowest humidity setting.
The unit isn't silent, but it is reasonably quiet on the lowest setting (though not as quiet as the name QuietCare would have you think). It does not have a built-in hygrometer/hygrostat, but it does have the ability to maintain a given humidity level (once you've achieved the desired level, you turn down the humidity level slightly and the unit will lock in that level). It actually works quite a bit better than the unit I tried with the hygrostat, only allowing the RH to drop a couple percent before turning back on.
The unit does push quite a bit of cool air, so people who are sensitive to that 'drafty' feeling will need to find an out-of-the-way place to put this. It also seems to replenish it's internal water supply more often than other models, so there are frequent gurgling sounds (but these are pretty quiet too).
The build quality and tank design are average at best, but this unit still gets five stars because it actually humidifies to my desired level with ease. One other thing to note - this humidifier uses green and orange LED's for indicators. They are not even close to as bright as the blue LED's used on some other humidifiers - which can act as an intensely bright nightlight. It seems like a small detail, but I have the humidifier in my bedroom and the other humidifiers were very annoying.
Customer Review: Great Humidifier Summary: 4 Stars
This humidifier works great. Its quiet but the fan on it is very powerful. You can also use this during hot days as a fan too. Im sleeping so much better at night and recommend this. Great price and received the shipment in 1 day!
Customer Review: Great Product Summary: 4 Stars
It isn't the quitiest humidifier, but its a humidifier and they will make noise since there is a fan that is a moving part and there will always be noise, it's very hard to have a fan on high speed and not have it make noise since it moves air and the creates noise. Good price, works like it should, I wihs it had a digital humidity gauge or they made one with it, that would be very helpful, the dial works fine but you do need to use a gauge it seems like its not as accurate since I can have it on the same setting to turn off and the humidity will be different depending on the day , time or weather outside/inside temps, but over all I can't complain, just wish it was a little more accure so I didn't have to pay attention so much
Customer Review: Great Unit. Summary: 5 Stars
Used this unit for the first time over the Christmas holidays at my vacation home in Vermont. Works great. No more nosebleeds, cracked hand asthma attacks and dry lips. I ran it on low fan and max humidity setting so it was quiet and really improved the comfort level in my approximately 1500 square foot home. I would fill up both tanks in the kitchen sink first thing in the morning and then after dinner in the evening. Well worth the $90.
