Customer Review: Good humidifier, does what it says

I just got my humidifier yesterday. I set it up and started it up last night in my fairly large living room that is always bone dry. By this morning it was out of water and the room was significantly more humid. I would note that even on the lowest level, the unit makes a distinct hum. At low and medium, there is not much air noise but a significant amount of air is still being pushed. At high, the air noise becomes very noticable, but it sure pushes a lot of water out.
The separate water tanks are a mixed blessing. Apparently it uses one up before it goes to the other, so if you were filling them quickly, you may only have to fill one. But it goes through water so fast that it seems unlikely you'd ever need to just fill one. When you have to fill both, it requires two trips to fill it. I guess it would get heavy to carry one big tank, but I think I'd prefer it.
Also, the unit is large. I wasn't quite prepared for how large it is. Looking at it, I'm not sure how they could have made it smaller and still have it do the same job.. but it is quite big.
EDIT: I'd also like to say that I just filled both tanks in my sink setting them both upside down on their tops while filling and they didn't fall over. They weren't particularly stable, but they didn't fall over and I filled both and carried them both back to the unit (the seals at the bottom held while I carried them back right-side-up) without incident. Just as a response to everyone who has complained about that.

This humidifier performs as advertised; it's very quiet and is adequate for several rooms to a moderately sized house. The dual water tanks are easy to carry and fill, and the design looks better (at least to me) than a big, square box with fake wood grain. The base and tanks are very easy to clean compared to other units.
There are a couple of flaws. The water tanks look good, but would be easier to fill if they could stand for filling. The curved shape of the top means that they need to be propped up in some way. The screw tops that seal the tanks need to be tightened securely. Someone with weak hands may need help or a tool or risk leakage.
All in all, this is a good humidifier.

My prior Bionaire humidifier sprung a leak so I had to replace it. The first one I bought at my local Home Depot didn't work: it was missing the float valve. I was a little annoyed that when I called the Honeywell 800 number, they couldn't just send the part, so I had to go back to Home Depot.
It has been running about a week. It is very quiet -- on the low and medium settings, you can barely hear it. On high, it is audible but far less noisy than the old Bionaire. We have it in our family room, so if we are watching TV we had to turn the Bionaire off.
In a couple of hours, it raised the humidity in the house from 30% to 36% on the medium setting.
Other reviews think it is flimsy and cheaply made. I disagree.
One minor annoyance is the design of the tanks -- the handles are ok but it doesn't stand flat when you fill it.
Definitely a good product.

I'm enjoying this humidifier. It was bigger than I thought it would be, but I found a space perfect for it. I don't have anything else to compare it to, but it does what it should. I keep it in the bedroom and turn it on a few hours before turning in. I definately feel the difference in the room. The sound is quiet and soothing. Once in a while it will vibrate, but I just bump it or reposition the cover and it's good to go again.
