Tools and Hardware Reviews of Honeywell HFS641P 16-Inch Remote Control Stand FanCustomer Review: Nice fan ...except.... Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this fan to replace the same model that had gotten fried from a power surge/lightening strike. After setting it up I realized that the frequency the fan's remote works on is the same that the frequency of the remote control for my TV. Whenever I press the volume button on my TV remote - it turns the fan on and changes the speeds on the fan. Needless to say this has been very annoying and I have to make sure either the fan isn't plugged in when I don't want to use it OR that I don't use the remote anywhere near the Fan anymore when I am using the TV remote. This is annoying to say the least. I assume they changed the frequency of the remote on the fan since I purchased it the last time a couple of years ago. Otherwise the fan itself is nice.
Customer Review: Nice fan, but again with the BEEPS Summary: 4 Stars
This fan does what I bought it to do, move air around. In that respect, it is awesome for a great price.
However, every time you turn on the blasted thing, it makes an annoying beep. Also when you press any button on the remote to switch modes, the dag-blasted BEEP. Why?
I live in an apartment building with wafer-thin walls and I feel bad for my neighbor when I go to bed really late. I know I can hear the beeps of other people's microwaves and air conditioners so I know that obnoxious beep in the middle of the night probably cuts through her like a hot knife through butter.
I also have a space heater that makes even more obnoxious beeps. Why? Is this some kind of government regulation? Can't they make the audio feedback a little less shrill? A more blunted, less harsh sound? Sheesh!
I'm going to try to take this thing apart and disable it's speaker. After that, this will be the perfect fan.
Customer Review: Not that great Summary: 2 Stars
It wasn't that great, the remote controller felt extremely cheap and the fan is too loud. They should make quieter "low" settings. Returned it and got a much cheaper one from Wal-Mart.
Customer Review: OK for the price - but cheap feel Summary: 3 Stars
I think this made in China fan is decent for the price, but I was expecting a better build. I guess I was expecting too much. There's a lot of lightweight plastic involved, and the fan knob that holds the fan blade in place is also cheap plastic. I stripped it a little by trying to screw it on CLOCKWISE then I read in the directions that it screws in COUNTER-CLOCKWISE, so beware. As for noise, even the low setting does seem a bit noisy but for my use it's not much a problem. My main concern is the durability of this fan. Overall I give it 3 stars as an "OK" fan for the price.
Customer Review: Okey Summary: 4 Stars
It works fine. However, it arrived without a base and Amazon was unable to find a replacement part or another fan like it. Foertunately I was able to rig one up for it
