This is a very nice fan, my only problem with it is the lack of downward pivotting, so you have to have it on a comparable level to where you want the airflow (or lower than the level of course). I wanted a loud fan to help drown out annoying apartment noises and it does just that.Customer Review: Great for baby's room

I was searching for a small fan that made a lot of noise for my son's room (age 1). The problem was, all the fans were "whisper quiet" or made "25% less noise". I wanted a noisy fan to drown out noises that may wake him from his sleep. Found this fan and it is perfect! It makes a nice humming noise and he is sleeping so much better! It oscillates and stays in place if you would like. It is better quality than I thought, although that didn't matter much to me. It makes a great noise and I am very happy with it. I just wish it came in white :(Customer Review: Great for the price and size!

Pretty nice! I wasnt expecting such a small cheap fan to perform this well. Moves plenty of air around, and is silent too.

The fan does exactly as it says but I noticed that if you want to turn off the oscillating feature the fan is stuck at whatever degree of rotation it's in. You have to turn the oscillating feature back on then turn it off again for it come back into the default position. The oscillating on-off button is a tiny little push button which can get a little annoying to operate when you're agitated about the heat in the first place.
I have this fan in a non-oscillating version as well and I love both of them. I find myself using the fan in standard mode since these guys can really move some air if you position them right.
I wouldn't recommend for a room over 15x15 as it is a small fan and if you want to "feel it" it won't reach you if you're too far from it.

This little fan REALLY moves air!
Small, lightweight, and relatively quiet.
When in oscillating mode, it moves smoothly and no squeeks.
I am very satisfied and highly recommend it.
