Tools and Hardware Reviews of Honeywell HMP-12P QuickSteam Mineral Absorption Pad, 12 PackCustomer Review: Mineral absorption pad Summary: 5 Stars
It arrived quickly and it works well for my Honeywell humidifier. This is the best price I have seen for the pads.
Customer Review: Mineral absorption pads Summary: 5 Stars
I am very satisfied with my purchase of mineral pads for my Honeywell Quickstream vaportizor. They haver performed above my expections.
Customer Review: Necessary For Vicks/Kaz V790 Humidifier Summary: 5 Stars
Bought the pads a month ago and just for S&Gs (shiz and grins), I decided to take a look at the pads today - just 1 month later. The tank water looks clean so I guessed the pads were not needed. Duh! Holly ships!!! The pad accummulated more minerals from my tap water than I thought possible. The tank water looked clean. I won't pre-soak in vinigar until I know what will happen to the minerals that I now know are in the water.
P.S. I use the pads in a new Vicks/Kaz 2-tank Model V790 Germ-Free Humidifier for Medium/Large Room Size. It provides pure, sanitized warm mist to the environment.
P.P.S. These pads are NOT filters! They are meant to absorb minerals from the water and they do that VERY WELL.
GREAT PRODUCT!
Customer Review: Never got to use the replacement pads Summary: 5 Stars
I own the HWM-450 humidifier. Or maybe I should say "owned." It worked very well for me for most of two heating seasons, then went belly-up abruptly--right after I received (but never used) the replacement absorption pads. The original pads, which I'm pretty sure are identical to the replacements, worked very well. I found they could be re-used several times if soaked in vinegar and rinsed. They definitely seemed to help extend the time between cleanings.
Customer Review: Not sure Summary: 3 Stars
I've been trying to figure out exactly what these are doing for over two weeks and perhaps I will someday. My humidifier manual says the humidifier can run without them but I will have to clean the unit more frequently. Since the water where I live is very hard, I have to clean the unit twice a week anyway. So I've run the unit without them and I can't tell much of a difference.
Incidentally, the pads do pick up something since they get hard and chalky as they dry after being in the humidifier for just a few days. I'm not sure if they're supposed to get hard as rock but if I left the pad in for a week (the recommendation), I think they would.
It's still a mystery.
