I can't really comment on the performance of this fan in that my purchase was delivered with one non-working fan. In hindsight, I should have read the other reviews that mention the poorly working motors, but I took a chance. In terms of quality and durability, I would not recommend this fan, and this model seemed to be one of the best regarded models on Amazon. I'm now at a loss to find a better item to replace this one, but Honeywell is not in the running...Customer Review: Built like a tank... great plastic... no annoying lights to keep you awake

Of couse the quality is great, built like a tank and I'd like to point out to those who may have not thought of it... it has no lights! Great if you want to use it in any room where you might be SLEEPING!
The quality is unmatched... I knew that when I purchased my first Honeywell fan for summer camp 16 years ago... this is my 3rd (the first is still kicking just fine). I have the floor fan, its $9 mini and now this great window fan. Built like a tank out of what is really good quality plastic, I'm very happy.
Id like to see it with a lower low setting, in black, and a bit quieter but since there are no black window fans in the market and it kicks the crap out of other fans on the other two points I will be keeping this baby till Honeywell makes a newer one :)

I bought this fan based on the reviews I'd read here and I'm very pleased with it. I thought my previous fan did an okay job, but this one has more power, relatively quiet and you can reverse the fans for intake or exhaust. My previous fan had to be removed from the window to do that. I'm so glad it died!Customer Review: C. Brand over-the-hill

I purchased this fan after I saw a similar one on a news report about ways to help keep cool. This fan has been great. I have it set up in the master bedroom. The two sides can be controlled separately. You can have one to blow cool air into the room while the other blows the warm room air outside, or you can have them both blowing in or out. It has a sort of auto setting so that it can kick on by itself when it gets too warm in the room. The sides extend out for it to fit to your window size and it can also be used vertically, there is a bracket attachment for that. I am very happy with this fan.
