This unit did a great job of keeping the humidity exactly where I wanted it. I filled it with triple filtered water and did not have the build up problems that I had with the double stage filter.
As soon as you turn it on, it starts putting out the moisture. All-in-all it's a great little machine that does what it says it does.

We had one before but the tank cracked after a winter's use plus this December. I was the one who dropped it. Scale build up on the tank's heating element is problematic if it isn't cleaned weekly. We live in town and don't use a watersoftner but if we did it would be an every other week cleaning.
We'll get another one as soon as our baby is born.
Really like it. Only negative is that it can be loud as it gulps water or when the warming cycle begins.

I have been using HWM450 for the last 3 months, and it works fine. But where in the world can I find replacement mineral absorption pads for this model? I bought this model from Home Depot, but they are out of pads. Amazon is out of pads. Kaz does not sell them. Internet search did not get anything either!
I am planning on trying the round pads from Slant/Fin and see if they do the trick. One tip: If they fit, I am buying them in bulk! :-)

I love just about everything about this humidifier. Works well, runs quietly, and is easy to use. The only thing I dislike is the water tank. It can not be stood up on end while filling and the cap is difficult to secure. But all in all a great product.
