Tools and Hardware Reviews of Honeywell HZ-315 Quick Heat Ceramic HeaterCustomer Review: Greatest Little Heater! Summary: 5 Stars
I have used this for a couple of seasons, and it is great! It is very small, but puts out a lot of heat for its size. Very convenient to take to different rooms as needed.
Customer Review: Honeywell Ceramic Heater HZ-315 Summary: 4 Stars
I like this little heater. My bedroom is actually in a finished, unheated basement. Brrrr! It puts out the heat and you can adjust it to come off and on. It's very small;but that makes it very portable. The price is so low you can purchase several; but you can get by with one so as not to run up your electric bill. The appliance is nothing fancy;but it got me through the end of winter just fine.

Customer Review: I love this thing Summary: 4 Stars
I have a walk-out basement. It gets cold in the winter. Somebody recommended using a ceramic heater. I chose this one based on favorable online reviews. I was not disappointed. It's quite potent. Yes, the thermostat doesn't quite regulate as well as the product description claims. But the price is right, it's sturdy, and it keeps you warm in your cold basement.
Customer Review: Ideal 1-room heater Summary: 4 Stars
This little heater is perfect if you need to heat a room on a cold night. When winter rolled around I knew I needed a heater in the bedroom to stand the cold without making the gas bill skyrocket by heating the entire house. My bedroom is VERY large, so I was a little skeptical when I pulled out this tiny little heater, but it was only about $20-$25 so I tried it out. In about an hour my bedroom was nice and toasty, and I didn't have to worry about it getting too hot because the heater shuts off periodically depending on the setting you place it on. After that I used it every night through the winter and sometimes autumn without fail, and it's still going strong for me 4 years later. I don't understand why there are people complaining about this heater not heating their entire house (That's not its function! Use your thermostat!) or that they can't make it run nonstop (that's dangerous), although it practically runs nonstop on the highest level settings.
The only complaints that are reasonable (and the reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars) are the ones that say:
1) It's noisy. Yes, it is pretty loud when you first turn it on, and might wake you if you're a really light sleeper when it turns on again during the night. For the most part if you are already asleep I think you'll sleep through it. You'll notice when it turns on and off again if you're awake, but it doesn't take long to tune the sound out, unless you put it on a low lvl setting (which seems to turn it on and off more frequently).
2) There is no "Off" switch. I took the advice of someone who said just "Turn it all the way down" and when I did that I noticed it never came on when I was at home, but my husband is a pit more paranoid than me and feels the need to unplug it when we leave for work.
3) There is not a lot of space between the base and heating grill, which can get hot if you're running it on a high setting. I put it on a little stool or table to keep it off the thick carpet, and that seems to work fine as well as making me warm more quickly.
I believe the people who have had bad experiences with it breaking, but I can honestly say that I have had no problems with it even though I use it daily during the winter, and it has saved me a bundle in gas bills. Definitely worth the buy if you're looking for an inexpensive and efficient little heater.
