Customer Review: Cool Heat & Save Up to 35% on Electricity Summary: 5 Stars
Enjoy a softly warm flow of circulated heat by selecting this very quiet heater's oscillation that rotates up to about ½ circle.
Here's how it has been designed to save up to 35% on electricity, which means a small contribution to lowering greenhouse gases - on the top of this heater is its Energy Smart knob that has six basic settings: -- "frost watch" - 65 F. - 70 F. - 75 F. - 80 F. - maximum heat.
On "Maximum Heat" the heater goes full force and does not save electricity. On the other settings the heater automatically selects the appropriate power level to best accommodate your desired temperature selected. As the temperature in the room approaches the set temperature, the heater will automatically lower the power consumption and provide consistent warmth without wasting energy. This also means your room will heat to the set temperature without overheating the room -- a real nice feature.
The illuminated LED lights indicate what the current room temperature is. The "frost watch" automatically turns the unit on if the temperature drops below 55 F. to help protect against freezing of pipes or frost damage.
This heater also has an auto-off tip over switch and Overheat Protection; plus a 3 year warranty. And, its operation is almost silent and it's cool to the touch. Five stars for Honeywell's design and quality control of this Made in China product.
Customer Review: Did not work Summary: 1 Stars
I had to return this heater after a few weeks. It would turn itself off after 20 seconds as if it had overheated. Problem is I had to wait and wait and hope in the cold room to see if it would turn itself back on. Sometimes it would but not for long. For the price of $59.99 I expected a much better performance.
Customer Review: Didn't melt chocolate coin my son dropped inside! Alternative for oil heater. Summary: 5 Stars
We have purchased two of these heaters; one for our son's room and one for our living room. We bought the one for our son's room to replace the oil heater he had. He's 18 months old and wants to get into everything so we really needed a safe alternative. We've had this heater for about two months now. My son was a little freaked out with it oscillating, but he got over it quickly and now just marvels at it. The slits are small so no worries about your child putting their finger through and touching the fan inside. Unfortunately the slits are not small enough to prevent your child from putting small objects inside, like say, a chocolate covered coin. I kept imagining it would melt or catch fire, but we left the heater on awhile (while we were in the room) until we could get to it. My husband took the heater apart and pulled it out completely intact! The chocolate never melted, which tells you how cool it stays on the inside. (I don't recommend doing this by the way).
Anyway, we pretty much let the one in our son's room run all the time, and the temperature gage on the heater usually runs 5 degrees higher than what the room temperature says it is; still not bad, honestly, since the room heats up really well and fast! We usually keep it on 80 degrees, which gives us a room temperature of 74 or 75, but we have very leaky windows, and the heather sits on a flat surface furthest from our son near one of the windows.
The one in our living room does a good job, but it's open space so the heat it lost up the stairs, and out the leaky windows. It still helps and you can definitely feel the difference with it on.
Really enjoy this heater and recommend it for being a safe alternative to an oil heater.
Customer Review: Does not heat up enough Summary: 1 Stars
I put this Heater on my computer desk and its about 6 inches from me. At its highest heat level it pumps out hardly any heat and I'm totally disappointed with the product. For the price it was a total waste of money. Another issue is that the cord is so short that it limits where you can put it. I had thought about putting it on the floor to warm my feet but you'd have to use an extenstion cord (which the product literature does not recommend) to be able to plug it in.
I am truly disappointed in this product and would not recommend it to anyone.
