Tools and Hardware Reviews of Honeywell HZ-7200 Cool Touch Oscillating Heater w/ Smart Energy Digital Control Plus

Customer Review: Don't Get the bad reviews this is 4 stars worthy at least.
Summary: 5 Stars

Don't be put off by the average reviews, this thing is awesome and helped me survive a winter where my parents rarely turned on the heat. It warms up a normal sized room in 5-10 minutes and it will make it warm enough.

Customer Review: Excellent heater!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this heater! It has everything I wanted: cool to the touch, tip over protection, and it heats an entire room! It also has an oscillating option that provides a pretty wide range. Another great feature is the thermostat that tells the current temperature. I've bought more than on and this is definitely a keeper! :)

Customer Review: Frequent 5-second On-Off Cycling Problem.
Summary: 2 Stars

My library is about 16 X 13 feet with wooden floor on a concrete slab. With ceiling vents, my problem is primarily keeping the lower part of the room warm. After reading several reviews, I tried the Honeywell HZ-817 which was good but because of its configuration, tended to push the heated air upwards above the cold area in my room.
I returned the HZ-817 and got the Honeywell HZ-7200 which was much more compact, easier to move around in the room and it had a much lower profile and a good oscillating fan. Like many other reviewers, I was very impressed with the HZ-7200 but I soon found that when its dial was within the range of the room temperature and it was dormant, it kept cycling on and off for about 3-5 seconds every 10 minutes or so. I thought that I had bought a defective heater so I exchanged it for another HZ-7200. The problem persisted. After reviewing the manual in detail, I called Kaz to see if I was not doing something correctly. The Kaz technician initially said it was normal to have these frequent brief on/off cycles but when I asked how such 3-5 seconds start-stop actions would heat the room and whether this is not bad for electric consumption as well as the motor life, he agreed that it may be defective. Kaz was not very helpful with any solutions and so I got a Lasko 6435 Ceramic heater which, apart from looking like an art piece, has been working exceedingly well for about a week now (Walmart has it about $10 cheaper than Amazon and it is highly rated by users).

Customer Review: Gives out sufficient heat.
Summary: 5 Stars

I had bought this heater for a friend of mines that lives out in the desert. Thats the only means of heating they have. They use it to heat the bedroom that is about 13X16 ft and they were very happy with the results. They needed a heater that was compact and to where it would not be easily tipped over by animals.

Customer Review: Great Little Heater
Summary: 5 Stars

I could write alot about this little heater but simply it's a great little heater. Looks like a little creature and does a great job heating. If you keep hair out and shoot some wd40 on it now and then it will last a long time. We have three of these and two larger ones and it had cut our propane in half this winter, though still expensive. Highly recommended!
