Tools and Hardware Reviews of Honeywell Low-Profile Silent Comfort HeaterCustomer Review: Good Heater Summary: 4 Stars
I bought two of these for our finished basement-to supplement the heat. They are working great since October-5 months now... They are low enough to look over them if need be-like for tv viewing purposes-obviously keep it far enough away from electronics. It takes at least 7 minutes to start to heat the room up-which is just fine. It can go all day long-no problems...except for the thermostat. I was really looking forward to the thermostat so I wouldn't have to keep adjusting the heater. We read the directions three times now and went through them again and again and the heater always resets itself to 81 which is way too high. I cannot figure out what we are doing wrong. So we are always WARM! :) I was scared to death to look at my power bill with the two 81 degree heaters going all December-but it was just an extra 50.00 and thats with the holiday electricity as well.
Customer Review: Good product Summary: 5 Stars
I searched the Web for 'best heater'. I found this product ( actually, there was an earlier version that had a better digital display.. Too bad ... No longer produced..)
We live in the foothills and have just experienced our 8th day of snow and ice.
I had bought three 1500 watt oil-filled heaters, which are on plug in timers timers to go in bedrooms. They kick on at preset times to take the chill off the room and then cut out about 2 AM.
My 10X13 poorly insulated bedroom, which is the far corner of the home and miles away from the woodburner is the coldest room of the home.
I had one of the oil-filled units set up there and replaced it with this one. I used it three nights and woke up at 1AM each night and turned off the unit because it made my room too stuffy.
On a gut level, I'd say that it produces 2X the heat that the same wattage oil-filled does. You do however need a 4 ft open wall to place it against.

I love it, it is quiet and the right size for me. I spent $70 on the HZ-515 and don't know if I would want to spend much more. I use about $5 dollars a day in electric powering 2 of these guys along with everything else in my apartment (cost per kilowatt hour is $0.165). Once they get a room up to temp it keeps it warm and toasty. I have one heating 250 sq ft room and I leave to doors open, so I heat about 600 sq ft with both HZ-515's. The average temp is about 45F I think if it gets much colder the HZ-515's will not be able to heat the area well and I will have to get an added heat source.
Customer Review: Good space heater bad power switch (On/Off) Summary: 4 Stars
I have used this in a medium size bedroom and does a good job. It's not a fast heater. Quiet. Within a year the on/off switch did not work. I got three of these and two of the three the power switch (on/off) stop working within one year. I contacted Honeywell and they wanted me to ship the heaters to them rather than send me a new switch. Shipping would have cost me around $20.00 for each heater. Add this to the cost of the heater.....$$$$$. Consumer Reports should have waited for reliable feedback from readers. I now give it a two star rating.
Customer Review: Good while it lasts Summary: 2 Stars
These work great and heat a one bedroom apartment quite well. We had ours near a wall with no worries. It was quiet and after the first couple hours it would keep the place very warm. Then after a year it would stop working. All three of them I've seen used died after a year. The thermostat part would still work but the heater wouldn't engage. They're sealed in a way conventional tools won't open so we couldn't fix it. So if you don't mind getting a new one every year I would highly recommend this one.
