Customer Review: Poorly designed heater

This heater worked for about 3 months, and now the switch won't turn it on anymore.
From reading other reviews, it seems like this is a common problem, probably due to the heating of an internal switch. The heater is impossible to open to try to fix it, and I can't find anything about this product being recalled.
3 months of operation is way to low for $55... Don't buy this product.

Pros:
- No carbon monoxide emission (compared to heaters than use kerosene and profane fuel)
- Very quiet. Even oil-filled heaters produces noises when it heats up (like somebody is frying inside).
- Has a screen to prevent burns when you touch the surface
- Adjustable thermostat
Cons:
- Very slow to heat the room
- Unless the air circulates in the room, the heat tend to concentrate on the side of the room where the heater is placed.
- Huge footprint

We bought this heater to take the chill off the den for a couple of hours when we watch TV on cold nights. Even at a low setting it spreads warmth throughout the room. We like the fact that there is no noise other than the occasional click when the heater cycles on. While we had a good spot for the appliance I can imagine that its size might be a problem in a very small room. However for our 13' x 11' space we found a great spot. I think in this coming Northeast winter, when our thermostats are set extra low to save oil, our heater will be a real boon.Customer Review: Quiet, Even distribution, but a little slow

This is the same heater that Consumer Reports rated highest and a best buy. Actually, CR rated a different model (HZ519) but this is exactly the same but has knobs not digital controls and is half the price.
Works great. Bought 2. keeps a 225+ Sq. Foot room (9 foot ceilings) over 70 degrees with the outside temp. under 32 degrees!
Very quiet...silent!
Takes about 2 hours to bring it from 55 to 70 so it's a little slow!

After reading the reviews I went ahead and got this one. It fit perfectly behind our couch in our downstairs family room that gets chilly in the evening when all the heat goes up the stairs. When we gather as a family to watch a movie, we can turn this heater on and it doesn't make any noise to disturb our movie. It takes a some time before you feel the heat, so it isn't instant, but it does take the chill off the room and make us comfortable.
My daughter broke her leg and is now living in the family room since she can't climb steps yet, so we leave it going all the time and it keeps the room extra warm for her, if we leave the door closed. It is perfect for us and our needs.
