This vacumn is the best I have ever purchased. I have it hung centrally in my garage/shop and the 30' hose reaches to all corners. It is so quiet, I can hear my music playing in the background. I purchased this Hoover product for my son and he absolutely loves it. It was even better than I had anticipated. He has been using it mainly for cleaning the garage & his car. And even more important, it was shipped immediately and received in excellent condition. I have been using Amazon for most of my gift purchases and have never been disappointed!Customer Review: Cheap hose? Bah. This is the best DRY vac I've ever owned.

Just got one of these and installed it in the garage. Two screws to hold the bracket--user longer ones as the included ones are a bit wimpy--hang, plug in and go. Took about 10 minutes.
Those who moan about a lack of power are wrong. This had enough power to suck up marble sized rocks as I moved across the garage. (They make a wonderful pinging sound when they hit the tank!) The one thing that did plug up the hose was lots of pine needles. That happened once.
Thirty feet of hose is nice. I stretched the hose out of the garage, across the breezeway and into the laundry room to vacuum lint out of our dryer. Couldn't have been easier. The hose is fine--mine felt just as solid as my Shop-Vax.
It is surprising quiet, too. Think this one is "noisy?" Fire up a good sized shop vac and you'll be deaf. This isn't silent, but it is no where near as loud as my 8 gallon ancient shop vac.
It isn't suitable for wet messes, but it'll get the lion's share of my use in the garage, cars and such.
If you want to suck nails out of the wall with your vac, get an industrial shop vac. If, like the rest of use, you need to use this occasionally, this will work nicely, thank you very much.

4 stars for vacuum. 2 stars for attachments. 1 star for hose.With all the good things about this vacuum, I can't believe Hoover would cut costs to this extream. The hose was crimped on arrival and even if it was not, I would have sent it back. This would be a great plastic(thin) hose for a toy vacuum, NOT for use in a garage or for vacuuming cars. Hoover really got sold a bill of goods on this. Hoover does not have a better replacement hose. I will look for a better replacement vacuum as soon as I go thru the trouble of returning this one.Customer Review: Competition is better!

I was looking for a garage vacuum that was easy to access, had good suction, and had a generous hose length. This Hoover unit has all of these features. The unit mounts permanently to the wall, so obviously you need the space for it (it is not small). The vacuum is very noisy, but it is in the garage, so for me that is no issue. I will be seeking an extension for the 25 foot hose (never long enough!), but the supplied hose seems adequate in strength and not heavy to drag around. This unit is not inexpensive compared to the typical shop vac units that we are all used to, but it is much easier to use due to the fact that it is mounted on the wall and off the floor. So far, I am pleased with my purchase.

OK, now for the update. This vacuum gets very hot when on for 10 minutes or more. I will say again that it is noisy and as noisy at it is, you would think it would have absolutely fabulous suction. Not so great. I have since purchased a "Bissell Garage Pro" vacuum. Much better in every way, suction is better, much quieter, and somewhat smaller. I now have the Bissell in my house garage and the Hoover is in my barn!
