I purchased this item for storing my down comforters during the warmer months. It easily fit two twin size comforters. Depending on the size of your blankets or comforters, it should hold more than one. The zipper worked fine and I didn't notice any canvas smell to it. My only complaint is that when I opened it, there were quite a few little loose threads stuck to the fabric. They were easy to take off with a lint roller, but that's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I used this to put my queen size down comforter in and it is still roomy inside. This is a zipper opening on top. This is NOT a box but a BAG so if you are looking for a hard construction type of storage, this is not for you. I LOVE this as if I need to squeeze this in an area, no problem and it will stay cleaner and still able to breathe through this canvas. I plan to buy a couple more as this is a very roomy bag & put some out of season clothes that i'm not wearing. You will be amazed how much stuff you can put in this storage bag. I purchased this through amazon and no problem with delivery.
