Tools and Hardware Reviews of Household Essentials 3000 30-Line Outdoor Parallel-Style Clothes Dryer with Aluminum ArmsCustomer Review: 1PC 210' Alum Out Dryer Summary: 5 Stars
It's the best foldable or umbrella dryer. It also rotates around the pole. I like this rectangular shape better than the V-shape one. I can hang more clothes, sheets, and/or blankets, all at the same time. It has enough space for 2 big loads of clothes. Everyone should have one of this in the yard. It's great for the environment. Beside saving energy, I've also saved more than $50-$60/mo not using my electric dryer. That's $600 a year. We are working on our deck and landscaping our yard. So, we don't have a designated location for the clothesline dryer yet. My husband just hammered it to the ground (instead of cementing it down as they recommended). It holds up just fine in the windy days. .
If you want your towels to be soft, don't over-dry them in the sun. Set the timer and take them in when they're slightly damp and put them in the electric/gas dryer with a sheet of Bounce for a couple of minutes. But if you left them stiffly dried, put a wet towel in the load in a dryer. It will help soften them up.
I have back problem so it does take me a little bit more time to carry the several trips of clothes out to the yard, hang, and pin down every piece. But I feel happy "harvesting" the sun energy and getting some exercise every day, (except for the rainy days. of course) GO SOLAR!!!!
Customer Review: 30line parallel style clothes line Summary: 5 Stars
I feel that the design was well thought out and I just have to add more cement around the base for added support. I like the product and the good thing about it is that it can be shored inside in the winter.
Customer Review: Attractive way to save energy! Summary: 5 Stars
This clothesline is attractive and easy to use. I can dry many loads of laundry on it at a time. Everything smells great and dries quickly. I am pleased to be doing something so easy to be green!
Customer Review: Average quality Summary: 4 Stars
I've been drying clothes outdoors for 25 years. My last clothesline, very similar to this one, would have lasted forever if the movers hadn't damaged it. I thought I was replacing my old one with one just like it, but my old one must have been galvanized steel and this one is aluminum.
After reading the reviews, I knew I would have to clean it before hanging out clothes and it was indeed very dirty - both the pole and the clotheslines themselves. And there was a bad odor. I know I will have to tighten the lines from time to time. But these are problems I am very willing to solve, because hanging clothes out is just so much better than using a dryer, especially in the summer.
This is definitely not as good quality as my old one - but nothing is these days - things were always made better many years ago. But I think it will hold up well and should last a very long time.
I think the seller could improve by sending an email upon shipment, with a tracking number. I really wanted to know what day to expect it and so I emailed the seller. I received a nice reply - right AFTER it arrived.
I've had the dryer for just a few weeks and I WOULD NOT GIVE IT FOUR STARS NOW - maybe three at most. The bad odor remains, even after washing it several times - it is quite obnoxious. And one of the arms on top, held to the horizontal string pole by a plastic bolt, had the bolt pop out and I can't get it back in. Two of the arms are fixed with a metal or aluminum "bolt" - the other two have plastic bolts, which makes no sense to me. I emailed the seller, who contacted the manufacturer. The manufacturer has promised to ship out a new one. Hopefully it won't have the same problem. I keep the dryer opened up in the garage year-round - I don't think it would hold up well outdoors in the sun and weather.
Customer Review: Back to the good old days Summary: 5 Stars
I love my new clothes dryer. I sawed a few inches off the bottom and put it into a heavy umbrella stand on my back porch. It can be taken down and rolled away at a moments notice. I used weights, you can use bricks or anything really, to stabilize the base when it is windy or there are heavy clothes on the line. So, no need to turn on the dryer, heat up the house, use the electricity when you live in sunny southern California!
