Tools and Hardware Reviews of Household Essentials 4000 30-Line Outdoor Parallel-Style Clothes Dryer with Steel ArmsCustomer Review: All is well and no grease Summary: 4 Stars
I was leery about ordering this item when I saw all the feedback about grease, but mine had no grease and was perfectly clean when it arrived. It gives me much more hanging space than the previous aluminum one that I had. I love drying my clothes on the laundry tree as they smell great, it saves on energy and your clothes last longer since you are not baking them in the dryer. Plus, as long as you don't hang the family underwear on the line, they aren't even bad to look at- it's sort of peaceful to see clothes blow in the wind. I recommend this product and and satisfied with my purchase.
Customer Review: Best product for the money. Summary: 5 Stars
What a nice way to Solar dry your mentionables and UNmentionables!
Easy to assemble, sturdy enough to hold and dry a comforter, rugs, sun pillows.
I love this and so does my electric bill.
Save yourself some money. Freshen up your quilts, bedding, etc.
Bring all that free smelling fresh air into your home with your clothes.
Customer Review: Broke After 2 Weeks Summary: 1 Stars
There was a little bit of grease on my dryer, but it cleaned up easily with rubbing alcohol and a rag. I am only marginally handy, but I was able to set it up in an afternoon. The dryer has lots and lots of lines. If you don't want the neighbors seeing your holey underwear, you can hide them in the middle. I was really enjoying using until it broke.
After only a few uses, a small plastic pin came out of one of the arms. After I fixed it, it continued to pop out. None of the other reviews mention this problem. The seller is shipping a replacement, so hopefully I will not have the same problem with the next one.
Customer Review: Does the Job and Meets Expectations Summary: 4 Stars
I received this just over a month ago after researching a few outdoor clothesline options. I liked that you can fold it up and put it away during bad weather, as I probably won't be using it much here in Seattle over the winter! It arrived on-time as expected, and was fairly easy to set up. Our backyard already had a hole and post from a previous umbrella line so we just plopped it in there. As others have noted, it did have a thin layer of grease, so I did have to clean it before I used it. It came off easily with Simple Green and in less than an hour was ready to go. I'm still tightening the strings as I put out the laundry but that's to be expected. It holds quite a lot of laundry, I'd say four medium-large loads. It seems pretty strong and sturdy and so far I haven't had any trouble with it. I gave it four stars because it met, but did not exceed, my expectations.
Customer Review: Everything is covered in grease :( Summary: 1 Stars
I'm so upset, I received this dryer for Christmas and used it for the first time today to find out that all the poles and lines are covered in grease. All of my clothes, towels and sheets are now coved in it also.
I will call the company on Monday to find out if this is not the norm, maybe I just got unlucky and received a lemon. But for now I'm so mad that my clothes may be reuined, I will have to wash them all again and see if I can get all the grease out.
Has anyone else experienced this? I'm not talking a little grease on the center pole so it will slide, I'm talking thick smudeges of it on all the poles and lines. The thing reeks and so do all of my clothes now that I brought them in the house. I tried to wipe it down but it's not helping and is an unbelievably daunting task with all of the lines, I think it's impossible for me to clean it up enough to be used.
But on the other hand I love the design, it is very sturdy and I would try another one if it isn't covered in grease.
UPDATE: The company was extremely apologetic, they said that is definitely not normal and have shipped out a new one immediatley. I'm very happy with their customer service and would difinitely update my rating to 4 stars as I do love the design and quality.
UPDATE II: I got the shipment within a few days and unfortunatly it was also covered in grease. I don't get how there are thousands of these out there and no one has had this problem. I had 2 friends look at it, and smell it, lol, and they completely agreed it is not right. You cannot touch the thing without your hands smelling and a good hand wash does not get rid of the stink. Unfortunatly I'm going to return it and try and find a different brand.
