We got this parallel style line dryer earlier this summer and have been using it most weekends to dry laundry. As long as the weather cooperates, clothes seem to dry within an afternoon so we're not leaving them out overnight. It does take a little more planning to line dry clothes than to just machine dry them (ie getting the laundry started early enough so that it will have time to dry before it gets dark) but I've really enjoyed using this product. I find that it's easier to fold clothes right off of the line dryer than out of the machine because you straighten and sort them a bit as you put them up. Often when using a dryer, we would just get lazy, and leave the clean clothes unfolded in a basket after drying them.
The line does sag a little, but I had no trouble tightening it up, and like the instructions say, after you've done it a couple of times, it stops sagging. Just start from one end of each line and keep tugging the slack to the other end and then tie it off. We installed this by setting the included plastic ground sleeve into a concrete footing. It's nice because it's very stable, but allows you to rotate the dryer as you hang clothes, and to get the most sun. We just leave ours out all the time instead of folding it up, but we'll have to take it in once winter arrives, and I'm sure that I'll appreciate the folding once it has to be stored away in the basement.
I've read some of the other reviews mentioning this dryer breaking. All I can say is that mine seems fine so far. I'll update the review if that changes.

I love this. Clothes dry really fast, I'm saving money by not running the dryer all the time, and I'm doing my part to conserve energy and be a little greener. The only problem I had with the product was the lower pole was crimped on the end and I couldn't put the upper pole into it. I had a steel bar in the shop so was able to work it back straight. that could have been a real problem.Customer Review: Very satisfied

the umbrella is sturdy steel, so it's heavier than my friend's which is made of aluminum. When raising the umbrella, the lines tend to get tangled in the arms, it just takes some getting used to. Overall I love it. We were lazy and didn't do a cement hole,we just hammered in the green post holder, and over one week it the umbrella has settled into the hole just fine. It depends on the soil you have.
