Tools and Hardware Reviews of Howard Leight LL1 Laser Lite Earplugs no Cords (200 ct)Customer Review: By far the best Summary: 5 Stars
I got hooked on earplugs my second year of college when I moved into on-campus apartments. It was so loud that I needed earplugs to sleep, but I went through many terrible earplugs before finding these. For whatever reason, many other earplugs are designed with incredibly itchy material or design. Many times I even woke up with bleeding in my ears because the earplugs aggravated my skin so much in the night that I scratched away at it. Many other times I'd wake up in a panic because the irritating earplugs didn't have tapered ends and through my fussing with them in my sleep, they'd get pushed so far into my ear canal I couldn't get them out with my fingers (the panicked feeling an the getting out of bed to find tweezers to remove them always made it hard to get back to sleep and since better sleep was the purpose of the earplugs, well... they didn't work out.)
The tapered end on these prevents them going too far into the ear. The design and the materials are super comfortable. The price is great. I just love these.
Customer Review: Can't sleep without it. Summary: 5 Stars
Better than any sleeping pill if you wake up easily. I started using it when I was working at night and sleeping during the day. Now I am back to day shift and use it at night. Only a fire alarm wakes me up. My wife uses it also and my snore does not bother her any more.
Customer Review: Changed my life Summary: 5 Stars
Between the talking/partying/outdoor TV playing neighbors, my spouse snoring and the dog's nighttime roaming, I was getting no sleep and hating life. Using the Laser Lites every night for the last four years stopped the insanity, allowing me to sleep comfortably and confidently.
I started with the earplug sampler (samples of 15 or so different brands) from earplugsuperstore dot com. After trying them all I picked out the most comfortable, highest dB plugs which turned out to be the Laser Lites. They create a perfect air seal without being too large, which is very uncomfortable. I buy them in bulk and take handfulls with me in my shaving kit when I travel, leaving stashes at my parents, the in-laws, etc. I spread the Howard Leight religion and give samples out to my relatives and friends. I am a true believer.
Some tips on using earplugs: 1) Make sure your ear canal is wet before inserting the plugs, this helps them slide into place without wrinkling. 2) You can feel a good air seal as a very slight tug on your eardrum as the earplug expands in the ear canal. Test the air seal by rubbing your thumb and forefinger together gently right next to your ear. If you hear anything, you most likely have a wrinkle and need to push them in again or re-insert.
These really are fantastic, high quality earplugs and I highly recommend them.
Customer Review: Comfortable for construction work Summary: 5 Stars
At first I wasn't sure whether to buy the Max1, Max Lite, or this Laser Lite model. I'm glad I got the Laser Lite. They are much more comfortable and softer than the foam earplugs I bought from the department store. The softness does not seem to take away from the noise reduction.. it expands nicely inside the ear and forms a tight seal. The packaging is a box with an access slot to the individually plastic wrapped pairs, which makes it easy to grab and take along on projects without getting them dirty.
Customer Review: Comfortable. Summary: 4 Stars
I snore and live at busy intersection, so my girlfriend and I were going through a lot of earplugs, and became somewhat of an authority on the subject. Overall they were very good with the exception of length. My girlfriend has extra small ears, so they didn't fit perfectly, but for most they should be great.
