Tools and Hardware Reviews of Howard Leight LPF-1 Max Lite Uncorded Foam Earplugs Box, 200 PairCustomer Review: Good, comfortable earplugs Summary: 4 Stars
I mainly use these while I'm riding my motorcycle, to keep wind noise down. And they work great for that. Even at highway speeds, they keep the white noise down to a tolerable level.
I have trouble getting some of the larger earplugs into my ear, but these fit fine. It can take a try or two on my left ear, but once they're in, they stay in. I can pull my helmet on and off without them coming loose, as long as I've got them fully in to begin with. The wider base is probably a good idea; I can't imagine these getting stuck in my ear, unlike some designs. And, as I said, it doesn't seem to get in the way, when the plugs are fully inserted.
I can't comment how good they are for anything but motorcycle riding. They're comfortable for that, at least, and keep out the noise I'm trying to keep out, while still letting me hear sirens and traffic noises. They aren't as totally silencing as some earplugs, and they're not as good at getting wind noise either. But they certainly work well enough, and that's a tradeoff I'm willing to make for the fit and comfort.
Customer Review: Great sleep aid! Summary: 5 Stars
Works well for keeping the noise out. Unlike some other plugs that always seem too large for me, these fit just right. I use them every night to sleep through loud irritating neighbors.
Customer Review: Have Used These for Years Summary: 4 Stars
Being an insomniac, I use every trick I can find to sleep through the night. Any noise bothers me. I discovered Howard Leight plugs while working in a factory. I have used these ear plugs for about 10 years and I can't sleep(not at work!)without them. They are comfortable to wear - just roll one up between the thumb and forefinger and gently insert it into your ear canal. The ledge of the ear plug should tuck behind the little, pointy flap of skin closest to the face. It won't work its way back out if you tuck it in properly. I take a pair of these ear plugs to the movies, to study in the library, to air shows or anywhere loud noises might bother me. The only thing that keeps my review from being 5 stars is the rare, slight ear canal pain I sometimes feel in the morning. Nevertheless, these ear plugs are a necessity for me.
Customer Review: How did I ever live without these?! Summary: 5 Stars
I have been using these ear plugs for the past few years, and I don't know how I got through a decade of marriage without them! My husband was quite the snorer... And I am a VERY light sleeper. The slightest little things wake me up. And I would be up alllllll night, nudging him back onto his side. His life improved, too, since he was allowed to sleep comfortably on his back without me pushing at him all night.
I can now sleep through all of those little things that used to wake me, AND the snoring! I recommend combining the earplugs with the use of a fan. I keep my floor fan on, facing away, and I am in my own little blissful quiet zone. Make sure that you follow the directions for using the earplugs or they may not work properly.
Advice for those who complained about the size: These generally come in three sizes. The higher the noise reduction rating, the larger the ear plug is, and more noise gets blocked out:
Smallest, with lowest noise reduction (But still pretty darn good!) : NRR30 Howard Leight Maxlite Uncorded Earplugs hearing protection 200 pair
Medium in size and NRR, and these are my favorites : NRR32 Howard Leight LL1 Laser Lite Uncorded Earplugs hearing protection 200 pair
For larger ear canals, and with the highest NRR of this brand/style : NRR33 Howard Leight Max-1 Uncorded Earplugs 200 pair
Customer Review: Howard Leight LPF-1 Good for small ears Summary: 5 Stars
I buy the Howard Leight LPF-1 for my wife to sleep in because of my snoring. They fit better than most and block out noise well. Amazon had the best price with prompt delivery.
