I purchased these muffs for use in my shop and while mowing or operating machinery. I don't feel a noise rating of 22 is high enough for shooting at a range.
Pros:
1) The amplification provides easy communication with others without constantly removing muffs
2) Muffs are comfortable for long term wearing.
3) Muffs are slim and fold down for easy packing.
Cons:
1) The output level of the Aux jack is low enough that it is difficult to listen to music while mowing or running machinery when combined with the relatively low noise reduction of these headphones.
2) Noise reduction is adversely affected by wearing glasses, due to the thin ear pads, and naturally, while shooting or running machinery, safety glasses should be worn.
Overall, these could have been much better by having thicker ear pads and a higher noise reduction rating. I have found I have gone back to wearing better earmuffs and isolation earbuds while mowing, and these are kept at my shop for use while running power tools. So they are OK, but certainly not everything I had hoped for.

Yes this product is not worth your buck if you are intending on use for firearm shooting. First of all there is not enough hearing protection even with the power off. My $10 construction ear-muffs does a better job. Secondly, the construction of ear padding is deficient that there is a sharp edge to the protective padding which rubs against top of my ears causing sever discomfort. The amp amplifies everything - hears traffic going by in my apartment. I am mostly concerned with the level of hearing protection which is not there. AvoidCustomer Review: Awesome

First impression is these are fantastic. They are made from quality materials, feels solid, lightweight and give you super human hearing. My only nitpick is that they make it difficult to wear with glasses or other eye protection.
Very happy with them overall.

This set of hearing protection is amazing! I have used higher dollar sets which are great and may hold back more of the sound along with better timing on cancellation but as a amateur shoot and hunt for fun these are the best for the price. Battery life is good I have had a couple of hunting trips and quite a few range visits and have not noticed a decrease in the quality. The low profile look is much more appealing to me and the head strap is very comfortable, even with a hat you often times forget you are wearing them. Coupled with eye protection they can squeeze the frames into the side of your head but i don't know of any headsets with head straps that that isn't a problem on. I shoot alot of shotgun and pistol along with some AR and they do a good job with all. I love this set of hearing protection and recommend them all the time when people ask me about them at the range.
