The Hunter 300090 appears to have decent build quality. Fan is not as quiet as I was hoping for, but should not be too loud in most situations and does move a lot of air. Filter is easy to replace. Had just moved into an off campus college apartment.. was having problems breathing at night waking up very stuffy. Searched through amazon for a reasonably priced air purifier and came across this one. So far so good the morning after i began using it I already saw improvement. It's been about 3 weeks and the purifier is still going strong I feel like it does make a big difference. I have 3 cats so I need a good air filter. I ordered two to place at two strategic places in my house. The units are so quiet I sometimes have to check that they are working. They definitely recycle the air and remove and possible odors from cat litters. People entering the house for the first time and seeing the cats act surprised. there is absolutely no odor.

The replacement filters are a ripoff, the Chinese on/off switch shorted out and getting help from Hunter customer service is more frustrating than dealing with the 3 Stooges. Hunter should drop this product line and stick to their overhead fans.
