I bought this to combat a neighboring apartment's smoke incursion, but I had wanted one for a long time. I turned it on and after about 15 minutes I realized my sinuses had opened up. They've been open ever since. It helped with the smoke, but I have to seal the room against other apartments to help further.Customer Review: Non-Standard, EXPENSIVE Filters!

I previously owned an air filter that used standard-sized filters, so you could go to the hardware store and get a HEPA furnace filter in that size instead of paying a FORTUNE for the "official" replacement filters. I thought I would do the same on this model, but they wised up and used a completely non-standard filter size, so you have to go through them for the replacement filters (which cost as much as the unit does). The ionizer is nice, otherwise I would have given it 1 star.Customer Review: Pleasantly Surprised

This is a very good and effective air cleaner for small rooms. You may want to check and buy some extra filters since I'm not sure this model, since I have a hard time finding replacement filters anywhere but online. You do need to ensure you change the pre-filter regularly to maximize the life of the HEPA filter. The unit is very quiet. You can hear it operating but the sound is that of a very quiet fan. You won't have any trouble falling asleep with the unit on in nearby. Very good unit, especially if you can find a sale!
