Tools and Hardware Reviews of Hunter 33252 CareFree Humidifier Plus with Exclusive Nite Glo Night LightCustomer Review: Features not made clear Summary: 3 Stars
I had owned two of the Hunter humidifiers before and was looking to replace them. It was unclear from the descriptions just which humidifier I should get, as all the model numbers had changed. I wanted a model that automatically turned off when the water was gone. That is not what I got. And to make matters worse, their customer service people couldn't figure it out either, and were of no help whatsoever. I kept the new humidifiers, as they work fine and do the job. But I miss the automatic shutoff feature.
Customer Review: Good product Summary: 4 Stars
Hunter Humidifiers seem to be a hit or miss type of product. My first one lasted several years. The second one lasted 1 winter season then the motor on the fan burned up. When I mean burned up I mean it smoke but no fire on the 2nd one. I bought a 3rd Hunter Humidifier because I like not having to change the filters. Simple really just add a cleaning solvent and a antibacterial solvent to each refill of water then your set. If you feel the need to clean it was the filter and the pan in the dish washer. Wipe the top part from the inside of the unit and around the motor with a cleaning solvent (409, what ever).
The antibacterial and cleaning solution is not very expensive (cost me 5.00 for both) and common at Walmart.
Will it last forever? No but it is a good investment for your health. No Humidifer will last forever and not buying filters saves money.
Customer Review: Great Humidifier Summary: 5 Stars
Ordered a Hunter humidifier much like this one before. Wanted another one. This model works well. Yes, it is a bit noisy, but it does it's job well. It puts water into the air!! Nice filter design, does not need replaced.
Nice tank, easy to fill by taking it (the tank) to the sink or bathtub. Overall, nice design.
Customer Review: Hunter 33252 CareFree Humidifier Plus with Exclusive Nite Glo Night Light Summary: 5 Stars
Recently had a severe URI and chest congestion (age 80). At 10 p.m., I called my grandson, who has three youngsters, and asked if he had a humidifier I could borrow, as I was all stuffed up and couldn't breathe very well through my nose, and was coughing. He brought over a Hunter humidifier, which he has used frequently for 8-10 years for his kiddies illnesses, and set it up. Shortly, withing minutes, my symptoms improved. I asked him to order me one. When it came (from Amazon) he brought it over, set it up, and took his home with him. Ours has run 24 hrs a day ever since, excepting a short time to clean the unit with vinegar solution. We are well now, but my wife got the same type URI a few days later. Both my wife and I breathe better running it all the time, as we heat with propane stoves that dry out the air. I ordered another Hunter from Amazon, and I guess this is the one they want me to review. The Blakely's call it "great." One is in the living room where the stove is, and the other in the bedroom.
Customer Review: Hunter 33252 Humdifier Summary: 3 Stars
This model from Hunter is acceptable at best. It has been discontinued by Hunter, and it's not a "carefree" unit , as claimed. The humdification specs are way overstated, but it will do a small room. It comes with one filter - good perhaps for one season and are about $15.00 to replace.
