Tools and Hardware Reviews of Hunter 33252 CareFree Humidifier Plus with Exclusive Nite Glo Night LightCustomer Review: Hunter Carefree Plus Humidifier Summary: 5 Stars
I have three of these in use during the winter. My serious sinus conditions require that there is sufficient humidity in the air. The Hunter's work just great...very efficient, quiet and easy to maintain. One added bonus is the lack and any white coatings on furniture items. We have tried many other products that leave a "chalky" white coating in the room on everything! The Hunters leave "nothing"...I would recommend this product.

We bought one for our son's room, and wanted another for his brother. We are very happy with the product, no concerns at all.
Customer Review: Hunter humidifier Summary: 4 Stars
I just purchased my second Hunter Carefree Humidifier. The first one lasted 7 years. It had a lot of white buildup and when I cleaned it this year it didn't work when I put it back together. Not having to replace the filter is a big plus. I had hoped Hunter would put an opening in the top of the tank so that it could be refilled without removing it and flipping it over, but there isn't one. The tank is heavy after filling and is awkward to flip over to reach the handle. The unit is not quiet. The high setting is ever noisier on this new unit than on the older one; the lower setting is not too noisy; the unit gurgles as water is being taken in. I didn't need the night light, which is a bright blue. Regardless of these problems, I couldn't find another unit that sounded better overall for my bedroom at night. For the most part, I'm pleased with it.
Customer Review: Hunter should stick to ceiling fans! Summary: 1 Stars
My wife purchased this unit for my home office space less than a month ago.
It took over 4 days to get the humidity above 35%, which is the lower limit of the comfort zone. I was using a separate humidity guage, not depending on the built in one.
Once it got into the "comfort zone", it did a fair job of keeping it there, but had to run all the time.
Two days ago, in the evening, I noticed a slight rattle and didn't pay it much thought. The next morning the motor seized up and the fan quit spinning. You could hear the motor just hum, but nothing.
I immediately unplugged it and emptied everything and let it air dry. Today I removed the cover off of the impeller and was surprised to find that the fan spins freely. It is the motor that seized up, after less than three weeks of use.
The box is already gone (used to package xmas gifts) and I doubt that I'll get any satisfaction from customer service when I call on Monday without shipping it in. At this price, and with my living in rural America, its probably cheaper to trash it and buy something else then go through the hassle and time to ship this unit in.
I will give them a call on Monday, and maybe they'll just send a top unit out then I can return the defective one in that box.
We bought Hunter because we're familiar with the brand from ceiling fans. Maybe they should just stick to the ceiling fans.
Customer Review: I agree - Not durable! Summary: 1 Stars
I had a Hunter humidifier and the fan stopped working after I put it in storage over the summer. But Hunter is sending me a replacement (but they said they've discontinued this model).
