This thing has a poorly designed float switch. I didn't work right out of the box. I jiggled the float and got it to run but it failed permanently after @ 3 weeks. I didn't retain sales slip from Amazon. Total loss.Customer Review: Multiple uses except that of a humidifier.

This product has mulitple uses. This product is for you if you a)want a fancy fan with a night light, b) need to water your floor every so often, c) are deaf and don't mind the loud sound. If you're actually looking for a humidifier then look somewhere else. We've had this humidifier for three weeks and not once has it ever reached the desired humidity. You'll have better luck finding bigfoot than ever seeing the green humidity level indicator light up.Customer Review: NO AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF!

I just purchased the 33252 model today, so can't comment on its performance. However the Amazon description is wrong: this model DOES NOT have the Automatic Shutoff feature. You have to get the 3.5 gallon model to get that (according to the Hunter site.)Customer Review: Small Room Humidifier

I've gone though a lot of humidifiers, both hot and cold. Most of them either stop working after a year or two, or get so corroded or mildewed that you have to get rid of them. The Hunter humidifier doesn't corrode or get mildew, you can wash the pieces, especially the Permawick filter in the dishwasher, it lasts over 48 hours of constant running on high (over 72 hours on low), and has a nice little blue light that lights through the water, which gives a nice softening touch. I've now gotten one for each bedroom in my house, and am extremely happy with this product.
