Tools and Hardware Reviews of Hunter 44360 Set and Save 7-Day Programmable ThermostatCustomer Review: Easy installation, save $$!! Summary: 4 Stars
This is worth every penny I spent, our old one was getting moody, sometimes it refuses to corporate. This one was very simple to install, the instructions are clear as crystal. You don't have to be very handy to do it.
My only complain is that there is not a battery cover under the main batter, when you have to lift it up for setting adjustment, the batteries are quite unsightly. but it's not a big deal. another thing is when the LED is lite up, there is a high pitch beep sound until the LED goes off, annoying but tolerable.
Overall, it saved me a lot of money in electric bill (i have a 2 bedroom house around 1200 sqft). Definately worth the investment, and it helps save the environment!

Customer Review: Easy to Use***BUT ONLY IF YOU READ THE BOOK**** Summary: 4 Stars
This thermostat was a really good investment for the $40 price.
For starters, it was RIDICULOUSLY EASY to install. I'm just your average Jane, and I was able to install this thermostat simply by following the instructions in the manual. Installation was a no-brainer.
I haven't had the thermostat long enough yet to be able to say whether it's saving me money on heating bills, but I appreciate the control this thermostat gives me. I was able to program the thermostat so that the heat is on a lower setting at night when I'm sleeping and at times when I'm not home during the day. You can actually make a unique program for every day of the week if you want to.
Programming the thermostat was really easy, by the way. Just like installation, all you have to do is read the manual and follow the simple instructions.
***The key here is that you must actually read the instruction booklet for this product. My husband didn't read it, and he finds the thermostat confusing. DUH. I suspect that other people who have posted reviews saying that this thermostat is confusing have also not read the book. You gotta take 10 minutes and READ THE BOOKLET, FOLKS.***
The only gripe I have about this thermostat is the same one that others have reported in these Amazon reviews: The thermostat backlight is really annoying. I wish I had the ability to turn it off and on with a switch.
(Others have also written that the batteries fall out of the thermostat when you open the cover. I have not had this problem.)
Overall this product was a really great value.
Customer Review: Easy to install and use Summary: 5 Stars
I've been using this product for 2 months now. The installation was simple and the instructions on programming and use straight-forward, although it has a lot more features than I use. The temperature sensor seems accurate.
Update: After 2 years now, this product is still working great.
Customer Review: Easy to use and saves money Summary: 5 Stars
This is perfect for single level apartments and homes. We are in a 1/1 large apartment and it works beautifully.
Our old unit was nonprogrammable and lacked features. It also had a degree variant of about 3 degrees so if we set it to 77 it would run until the house was 74 and then wait until it was 80 to turn back on...frustrating and costly.
This unit works as described and provides me with plenty of programming options, we use the week/weekend program and it is very easy to get set up and running. Installation was uneventful and was complete in about 20 minutes. Thanks to our electric company I can see how much electricity I use a day and what it costs me and so far comparing last month's bill with our old thermostat to this month's bill with this one I am saving roughly a dollar a day. Paid for itself in less than a month. Can't beat that.
