I liked the retro look and the weight. It worked wonderfully for about a month and then it started getting louder. The oscillating really got loud -- so I used it in the stationary position. Now THAT is making noise. It got so bad last night, my husband, who cannot hear without hearing (and did not have them in) got up and turned it off. Another bad aspect is the extreme difficulty in cleaning this fan. I will never buy another fan that I cannot pop the front grate from easily. I received this fan in the mail yesterday and I instantly LOVED the design. It's attractive and sturdy and arrived already assembled. I plugged it in and was happy with it's performance. I think the small amount of wind noise that comes out of it only adds to it's vintage feel. I had it going for about 10 minutes when my (male) roommate came home. His first words to me were, "Nice fan. It's classy." I couldn't have said it better myself.Customer Review: Best Fan I've ever had.

This fan isn't completely silent, but it is an extremely quiet fan with only a small amount of "wind blade" sound, no motor or gear sounds. I bought a second one with the same WONDERFUL results. I think that these Hunter fans are the best made items I've purchased in a very long time.

I bought my first Hunter 90021 12" fan about 7 years ago. I loved it. Bed Bath and Beyond stopped carrying it bacause it is too good and doesn't break. So I had to order it on line. For another room. Love it.
