Customer Review: Great looking - poor performance

I bought this fan nearly a month ago. It started off fine, though definitely not "whisper quiet". I'm convinced the cage and blades are too heavy. The blades have begun to hit the side, the cage won't stay tight, and the motor is very loud. Plus the clicking noise it makes will drive you crazy. This is a real disappointment! I bought online because the black version of this Hunter isn't available in stores. Now I intend to return it and swith to the more reliable Vornado brand. Hunter has a good rep for ceiling fans, but for whatever reason this oscillating version just doesn't cut it.Customer Review: HUNTER FANS...FANTASTIC.

I am part owner of my home, and we own 10 Hunter ceiling fans, and I recently purchased 3 of these floor fans and 1 pedestal Hunter fan. I believe in the Hunter fans quality. Their products are extremely durable, QUIET and attractive. In my opinion, Hunter manufactures some of the best fans in the world. These fans may seem expensive to some; however, you will not be replacing them any time in the near future. You WILL get your monies worth!Customer Review: Happy camper

This Hunter Fan is very high quality and I believe it will easilly outlast me whereas the lightweight plastic fans get thrown away every three years.It features a slide switch vs a push button therefore much less chance of any spill damaging it's function.Finally, the finish is superb !!! I received the fan a few days ago. I was surprised how heavy the fan actually was. All of the parts are metal and it sits very sturdily on a wide base with eight rubber feet.
-The oscillation is super quiet. If you don't fully push the knob down for oscillate mode, it will click.
-The fan tilts but it does not tilt that much. It is meant for a table top. Not the floor or close to the ceiling.
-The grill easily comes apart so the blades can be cleaned.
I think this is a heavy duty appliance that's definitely worth the extra cash.

In contrast to some negative reviews, I have found this Hunter fan to be mechanically quiet (e.g., no clicks). It is well-constructed and easy to use. Since it is a tabletop fan, its weight increases its stability and durability. I highly recommend it.
