I don't know why I bought this fan. It was on sale, but even then it was still expensive. I guess I thought it would look nicer than other fans in a living room or den.
Its design is supposed to have sort of an antique look, with modern accents. It does neither very well. The knob, for example, looks like a misshapen lump of clay.
Although it has three speeds, all of them are too high. Not a fan for the bedroom or sleeping area.
When I turned it on my first impression was that they put all their efforts into the look of the fan, not efficiency. The blades look like they are too small for the enclosure, and have little shape to them. The result is a noisy fan which spins wildly, but doesn't perform its job of moving air forward very well.
I would have given this one star, but it does work, and seems sturdy (it's very heavy).
I'm not crazy about the blue either, but that was the color on sale. I can always paint it I guess.
I am disappointed with this purchase and can't recommend it. For a top notch fan of this size look at the Soleus for about $50 less.
