Customer Review: Do not purchase this fan: safety issue

This fan fell down on top of my son after it was up for over a year. While it was on the fan itself seperated from the base. I have contacted the consumer safety commission and they are investigating the fan's safety. The weight of this fan could have killed a small child.

You'll hear the roar of the crowd but not the roar of the motor. Whisperwind high performance motor delivers air movement of 3,000 cfm and assures quiet operation. The four reversible Pine/Aluminum bat blades let your slugger go for traditional wood or a modern gamechanger. The integrated baseball glove light has a die-cast leather look catcher's mitt housing and stitching details on the baseball light globe. The fixture uses one included 19-Watt compact fluorescent bulb and comes with a home plate ceiling applique. This fan can be installed without the light kit if desired. By using your Baseball fan properly throughout the year you can significantly decrease your personal energy use without sacrificing comfort. Hunter's patented anti-vibration technology featuring the unique triangular hanger ball system reduces torque for wobble free performance.
