Tools and Hardware Reviews of Indus-Tool FWXXX Cozy Electric Foot Warming PadCustomer Review: Awesome! Summary: 5 Stars
I ordered an electric foot warming pad for my desk since I'm always complaining about my feet being cold in the winter. I ordered this product two days ago, received it today and plugged it in immediately. Wow, what a blessing!! No odor as stated in some reviews (I'm glad I didn't rely on those reviews).
I recommend this product to anyone that has to deal with feet being cold during winter months! What a great product!!!!!
Customer Review: BEWARE of this product! Summary: 1 Stars
This is the worst product I've ever purchased. The unit, whenever plugged in and used, gives off the most horrible petro-chemical-solvent based fumes I've ever encountered. No one in our household can tolerate the intense fumes, which permeate the entire house within 30 minutes of use causing burning eyes and throat, and intense headaches. Hoping that these odors would subside with time and usage, we plugged the pad in out in the garage and let it "season" 24hrs/day for a bit over 3 weeks. Tried it inside again, with the same results as before. Even after a month of aging, the solvent odors are intolerable. I am discarding it, as the health risks to anyone breathing these vapors are unacceptible. To those reviewers who stated they noticed no odors, you must have received a unit manufactured by some other vendor, as this made-in-China heating mat is the most unacceptable -- and dangerous -- consumer product I've ever seen.
Customer Review: Best $40 I ever spent Summary: 5 Stars
Smell was not a problem. I let it operate for a few days in the garage before bringing it inside, and there was a bit of an odor in the garage for the first couple of days. I used to run a 1500 watt space heater in my office all day long, and still my feet and hands were cold. In the month since I got the warming pad, I have not needed the space heater and my feet and hands have stayed quite comfortable. This has been a huge improvement to my quality of life. Strongly recommended for anyone who gets cold feet sitting at a desk.

This heated mat has a VERY STRONG odor when it heats up. And it is far too hot to work effectively. You could probably use it to reheat your food but not your feet! I would return it if it wasn't such a hassle! A bad deal. DON'T BUY IT! Indus-Tool Cozy Electric Foot Warming Pad #FWXXX
Customer Review: Blessed with no smell! Summary: 4 Stars
I got the floor heater this week. I had read most of the low-star rated reviews and saw how many claim it smells but ordered it and figured I would return as defective if the smell didn't leave after a week . When I got it, I put it in the garage for a day and could smell a slight rubber smell. Next day, I took it into my home office and used it and no smell. I guess I got lucky.
The only down side is that in sock only covered feet, the feet can get quite toasty (sort of like standing on a floor vent) to the point where your feet are continually needing to be moved. If I wear shoes, the feet are warm but then get a bit sweaty.
I also put on a timer so that it comes on in the morning and off at night.
I put a hand towel down and that seems to buffer it nice for the socks only way. I might get the optional hi-lo switch but feel they should have included the switch on the product for a couple of extra dollars.
All in all, a nice product (assuming it doesn't smell). Order it, and if the smell doesn't go away, send back as defective.
