Tools and Hardware Reviews of Indus-Tool FWXXX Cozy Electric Foot Warming PadCustomer Review: Good lord - the smell!!! Summary: 2 Stars
Have you ever seen that Seinfeld where Jerry's car is attacked by BO that doesn't go away, and lingers on anything that crosses its path? This has the same disease. Plus, it was clearly a used item - the packaging was repacked and the foot warmer was dirty. Gross, but it's a foot warmer so I thought I'd give it a chance regardless. In its defense, it *does* work - my terminally cold wife liked the warm footsy feel; unfortunately she has a sense of smell. The room we had it in is still stinky! Get this thing outta our house!!! :)
Customer Review: Great Foot Warmer Summary: 5 Stars
My office is on a ground level concrete slab. During the winter time, I could never keep my feet warm even though the room temperature was 68 degrees. I put a pad under my desk, worn heavy socks, and even fur lined boots; my feet still got cold. With the Cozy foot warming pad, they get cold no more!
Customer Review: Great Foot Warmer Summary: 4 Stars
I've purchased two of these within 3 years. The first one was for my husband for under his computer desk located in the basement family room. The mat gets really warm (it was designed for open warehouses) and has no thermostat, so we put a piece of heavy cardboard between it and the carpet for protection. Also, the lack of an off-on switch is a negative: you have to plug it in and out to turn it off and on. NON THE LESS, I don't think he'd give it up.
The other mat I purchased was a 2006 Christmas gift for a son-in-law to use in his garage workshop. I've had no reports back yet, but his comment upon opening it was: "Oh boy, now I won't have to quit just because my feet are cold!" I don't know what adding an of-on switch and a thermostat would do to the selling price, but those features would sure add to the convenience.
Customer Review: Great Heater! Summary: 4 Stars
I ordered this foot warmer because my office is usally about 68 degrees or so. Everyone else seems to be comfortable at that temperature but I'm freezing. I had a space heater but that was taken away because I was told it is against policy to have one. So in an effort to keep from getting frost bite at work, I ordered this foot warmer. There is a slight rubber smell when it is on, but it's nothing like some of the reviews I have read. It doesn't smell like a skunk or burn my nose or eyes. The odor is very slight and since it's under my desk, it doesn't seem to bother anyone else around me. I love this heater!! Maybe if your nose is really sensitive, you would be bothered by it, but I'm just happy to not have to sit indian style in my chair all day.
Customer Review: Great Mat, buying another Summary: 5 Stars
Hey this is a great low cost item,
- first of all its BIG -- has a very large area esp when compared to other mats on sale on the Net
- costs little or nothing to operate and helps us cold feet folks and computer users (millions of us) last during the long cold periods
There is a break in period where the petro-rubber smell dissipates over time where I can hardly notice. I am installing a light dimmer for temp control with a cut-off switch and will add a sensor to detect when I am present or not.
