I don't know why Paula posted the same negative review twice--but I've had my Inova now for almost a year and change--and it's been a fantastic light. I also have a Mag rechargeable and while the mag has better control on lighting, the Inova is far more sleek, and more concentrated light wise. As a professional shadow puppeteer (yes im serious) im in constant search for the perfect white light. It has to be bright it has to be white. I have my clunky gear for putting on bigger shows, but for birthday parties and impromtu acts (bars, airports, pharmacies)I whip out my Inova. The price is up there but you just cant put a price on good shadows.Customer Review: Junk

I bought this flashlight to replace an eight year-old Surefire. I was always happy with the Surefire, but I was tired of having to buy new NiCd batteries after only about 50 charges (about one year of use for me), having to discharge them fully every time before recharging them, and waiting 12 hours for recharge. Unfortunately Surefire doesn't offer rechargeable lithium batteries. The lithium battery in the Inova was a major selling point for me.
However, Inova has a major problem with its chargers. The first two flashlights I've tried do not charge properly. The seller I bought the flashlight from admitted having lots of problems with the Inova flashlights.
Although I've called Inova three times, I've been unable to reach a technician (they don't even have a toll-free phone number). I did speak to the secretary who answers the phone and even she was aware of the charging problem. I left two messages for the technicians and neither was returned.
Inova claims the batteries recharge in "Under three hours." That is totally false. It takes closer to four hours, and then the charger indicates a malfunction, leaving you unsure of whether the battery fully charged or not. Inova also shows a picture of the T4's beam pattern on their website. The picture shows a nice, smooth pattern. The actual beam pattern has several concentric rings of lightness and darkness, not even close to what the advertisement claims.
My assessment of Inova and this flashlight is that Inova is selling a product they know to be highly prone to failure, falsely advertising it, and providing extremely poor customer service.

I have purchased 7 of these marvelous flashlights and all functioned flawlessly right out of the box (6 were gifts). Everyone who has seen it has asked, "Where can I get one?". If you live in an area that is threatened by power outages, this is the one - recharge it at your home when you have power, and your car when you don't. How many times do you pick up your old Ni-Cad or D battery driven, incandescent flashlight and discover that it is practically useless because of the dim light? For me, that was the majority of the times. But the T4 remains incredibly bright throughout a charge period. The central light cone emmanating from a single LED is intense and is surrounded by a broader halo - perfect! Recently my neighbor needed nighttime help and brought out her huge Maglight that was so dim it was almost useless. I said, "Here, try mine" and handed her the little T4 - she was an instant convert. When I explained the T4's features, and its price, her instant response - "It's worth it!" . . . and she has ordered one.

This light outperforms expectation in an urban environment. Battery life is exceptional along with the charging time. Beam is very focused. The light's strobe was found to be effective in disorienting suspects both in darkness and in semi-lit areas. Fit and finish are very good with the light being comfortable to use and work with.
Pros: After being dropped on concrete from shoulder height several times over the last seven months, this light still performs flawlessly. Great shock resistance. On/off button easy to use and switch between strobe and low power. Battery life and charging time significantly better then competing companies (Surefire, Streamlight).
Cons: The on/off switch sometimes will not hold the light on. I have found that you will sometimes have to keep pushing the switch to get the light off of "momentary on/off".
Not to be used in contact with ANY water.
Inova claims that the light is water resistant. After speaking with Dot (ext. 204) in the customer service dept. I was informed that the light would withstand momentary submergence in a puddle. Washing off a biological contaminate (blood) under the sink faucet exceeded the "water resistant" claim. Water was found inside the battery compartment and toggle switch area which caused the light to stop working. Inova offered to take the light, battery and charging cradle back. The charge would then be $39.95 for a replacement.
As an update, after speaking with Laurie with Emmisive Energy Corp, they have agreed to replace the light at no cost. Laurie did state that placing the light under running water exceeded the "water resistant" capability.
