This worked great when using it for a single porch light. I tried using it for the xmas lights and the unit became very very hot - scary hot. Reading the directions it states it can't handle tv's, appliances, etc. So pretty much it's not rated for anything more than a simple light.Customer Review: Broke after 1 week

I returned mine today. It started flickering when the lights were on after one week. I bought this model to replace the older model which failed after 6 months. I now have a ST-01 which I'll try to see if it's any better.

I bought this switch timer (model ST01C) about one year ago. And this week it stops working and show me "BATT" message in the screen. I tried to buy a replacement battery and I found nowhere to buy it. The battery level seems to be just fine but the relay refuses to operate. I guess the relay somehow draws more and more power as the product ages, and eventually no matter what battery condition you have, it will just refuse to operate.
Do a research on the net and you will find more and more problem about this switch.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I found a CFL bulb that works without flashing.
Look for the new dimmable CFL light fixtures such as 15W Dimmable CFL R30 Style 65W Equivalent
I have a dimmable bulb in my single socket front porch fixture and it works just fine.
