Customer Review: 3 kits, zero bulbs
Summary: 1 Stars

We bought this for our lawn, but sadly when it arrived, we noticed that there were no lightbulbs though there should have been. We contacted Amazon and they sent out a second kit. No bulbs. We contacted Amazon a last time to inform them about it and they sent out a third kit. No bulbs. Amazon took all the kits back at no charge for shipping and refunded our purchase. I can't believe Intermatic/Malibu would have 3 kits in a row with no bulbs. Yay Amazon though.

Customer Review: A great Malibu light kit
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great little kit for those of you who want to light up your front yard. The directions are good and it does not take long to install. I have two cautions. You will want to protect your timer from the elements. In addition, make sure that you press the connectors in to the wire securely. To protect the black housing from the elements, a little Armor All can be applied to shine them up after the initial sheen disappears. The price of this kit is well worth it.

Customer Review: Awesome product, everything you need is in the box!
Summary: 5 Stars

This set was great and way better than the solar versions that cast off hardly any light at all. My husband put this together and installed it in 1 afternoon and the results were exactly what we were looking for.

It's far sturdier than the other sets we saw at Home Depot, and better yet, all the stuff needed to complete the project came in the box. You have to put the lights together, but that was the most time-consuming piece of the process.

I'm considering buying a second set for other areas of the landscaping; this is a great set and well worth the money we spent.

Customer Review: Best Lighting Kit Product for the Price
Summary: 5 Stars

I read all the reviews on Amazon before purchasing. I knew I didn't like the ambiance of the solar powered lighting, and I knew I didn't want AC lighting for the cost of power reason. I took a chance with this low powered kit, and I must say that I'm very pleased! ...But... I agree with several posters on here. You must be a hand's on person, and enjoy spending an hour or so putting all the pieces together. I was very surprised when putting together the last light, that I had all the correct number of pieces in the box. In fact, I had one extra stake. My local Hardware store carries Malibu replacement items, so I wasn't too worried if they missed an item or two.

Yes - they are plastic, but they aren't brittle. They do bend, but I didn't break any... even with putting a little force on them.

As far as installing, that took me a little over two hours. I was worried based on where I needed to install my lights (I had to do some creative burring of the cable, for quite a long distance, total of 200 ft, to get around a raised sidewalk that leads up to my house), that the included 18 gauge wire would be too small. I went to my local hardware store, and purchased two 100ft rolls of 16 gauge wire for 9.99 a piece. Very reasonable in my opinion.

I wanted to get the optional photo sensor eye that turns it on at dark, and off at dusk. There is a special input on the power pack that you can use, but it seems that they have discontinued the low voltage photo eye. So instead, I purchased a outdoor, photo eye power 110V power adapter for $9.99, and it works great! I have the photo eye plugged into my outdoor GCI receptical, and the Intermatic power pack plugged into the photo eye. Works like a charm!

But that night, my worries went all away when I saw them turn on the first time during the dark hours. They are nice and bright, and I believe that using the larger wire may have help attributed to that. The user manual does explain that using a larger gauge wire, will make the lights brighter.

I'm very happy of this product, and would highly recommend them to others looking for a low cost, but involved weekend project!

Customer Review: Best product for the money.

I never liked the solar lights so I bought these. They really make my house stand out.
