Great emergency light. The night light burns yellow and works well, but it's a bit bright if you plan to keep this in your bedroom. Love the outlet plug in front of the light. These are great. This is my 2nd set in 10 years. Our grid goes out many times a year, and these just instantly turn on so we and especially, our dog, doesn't go nuts. Then just grab it for use as a low power flashlight, and you're good to go. I also like the night light feature. I have 3 of 'em in the house, ready to turn on next time PSE&G's grid fails and the next block over stays on! Argh!Customer Review: Great idea, but failed when put to the test

I bought this about a year ago...we needed it because our basement is pitch black, and needed something that would come on when the power went off, otherwise the kids would be scared to death.
Well, our power went off recently, and guess what? It didn't work. Although the nightlight function (the orange glow) was fine with the power on, the automatic bright light did not work when the power went off. I don't know if it is the built in rechargable battery or something else, but when tested it months ago it was fine. Maybe because it was constantly plugged in? But if it can't be plugged in all the time, what good is it in an emergency when you need it?
I'm going to try to get a free replacement because in my opinion, this is exactly what the function of this is supposed to be, but what confidence can I have in a new one if it can fail after a year when it is really needed?

I had one of these before and it stopped working correctly so I had to buy another one just like it. I like the orange light that is the usual night light and the fact that when the electric goes off it is a bright white light.Customer Review: Great safety feature and easy to install

We own a new condo in St. Maarten in the Caribbean and because we will be renting it, we felt that having a security feature for our guests was a must. It serves it's purpose and so we are pleased. We purchased 3 units. The nightlight feature keeps the hallway lit at night and if there were to be a power faiure, our guests would have some security in knowing they have some vision to get around until power is restored. Because it's removable, it serves as a flashlight as well. Great product to have handy in any household.
